Good result given our depleted side.
I heard via FB that the ref wasn't having a great day.
From where I was sat he had a shocker, but I'll watch it on MoTD tonight to see for sure.I heard via FB that the ref wasn't having a great day.
Comprehensively outplayed them and didn't allow them to play until the last 20mins or so. They had very little in the final third too. They'll need to perform better to finish ahead of Liverpool, which is what I'm willing them on to do (even if they were calling us red ste!)
Doesn't matter who it was against, we really needed that. Yoshida had a good game too, which was good to see. Harry Reed covered for big Vic admirably for his first go too. All in all a great result, just a mixed day as my missus came with me who is an Evertonian. Difficult afternoon for her in the Chapel, I'll have to treat her to something!
Great result yesterday and a fantastic team performance. Every player really put in a shift. A performance the fans were owed after that abject display on Tuesday night !
The press,as usual, seem to concentrate on how poor Everton were not how well we played. Should be used to it by now really.
A happy Xmas household now and can look forward to the Palace game .
Oh and will add glad I was wrong with my no win till Feb theory

Quality performance yesterday.
Well worth the point.
Was it a penalty ?
After seeing it on the box I thought so but so was the challenge on Long in the Everton game so these things happen. The way Moaniho is going on about it you would think nobody else ever gets a bad decision against them

Still unlikely but I think we do have a realistic shot at top 4 now. Looking at our remaining fixtures they aren't that bad at all.
Apart from home / away it's every team left except Arsenal! Although fixtures do seem more winnable when you sit 4th in table and have just beaten Arsenal. The average points haul to finish in 4th over the past 10 seasons has been 70pts, last season was 79pts, and we were 23pts behind.
Assuming hypothetically 70pts is the target again we would need 34pts from 18 games (1.9/game vs 1.8/game for the season so far). Normally the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool would win far more often than not in the second half, and for that reason I think it either needs continued self distruct by our competition or some money spending in January, with a heavy slice of luck. Think we will finish 6th or 7th, and with that I would be very pleased.
