Not pretty, but got the job done. Did no more than needed. Long was best player on the park, always causing opposition trouble and chasing everything in sight. Put them under pressure quite a lot as usual. Fonte was good defensively, but a fair few wasted passes going forwards. Can't see why Long didn't get MoM.....oh yeah, Lawro was commentating.

Dreadful game last night and a poor performance but we are through to the next round.
Disappointed with Ipswich last night. Expected them to be in our faces all game but was at times very easy.
Good luck to them though with their promotion push.

Tough game now at Newcastle. Hope our ever thinning squad can cope !

Good result that and much needed after all the teams below us (in the near vicinity) all won.

42 points and safety assured smile

Not seen the game and won't get to see MOTD, but happy that we are still doing so well

I only saw the first half on the telly and Toon were fortunate to score as it was just a lucky rebound. Elia looked good and pacey. Good three points as mentioned as Man U and Spurs won. I'd expect Citeh to beat Arsenal tomorrow

I am sure city will win tomorrow.

In reality then.... Where do we think we'll finish? Is it top 6 or top 7 for Europe? I seem to forget every year hehe

It's getting quite close now around top 6 and the other teams are beginning to rally points up.

We are also picking up points. 3 away at Newcastle is a good return and we've only dropped 2 in 15. Another win and Ron has to be manager of the month

What a week.
3 tough away games and 3 wins.
Thought we were comfortable , again , yesterday. Gave Newcastle their goal and they did not really look like scoring after that.
As a Saints fan you are expecting it to go t!ts up but the team just keeps on improving. All the players that are coming in are doing a good job. If we can get through the next couple of weeks the squad will then be back to full strength and who knows where that will end up.
Plus we still have Jay Rod to come back biggrin
Real exciting times.

You're game is on Radio London, sounds an absolute cracker 2-2 after 22 minutes

Saints were pretty awful. Palace were more positive going forward and they deserved the win. Saints midfield could not stop them pushing forward. And to cap it all Long was injured, though I don't know how seriously. One to forget.

Decent player, nice guy but wants playing time and there are two/ three players in front of him and a couple of youngsters coming through.
In my view he'd be a first choice for most premiership sides outside the top 4/5.

Long out for around 6 weeks. That leaves Pelle as our only forward!

What about Gallagher? Young I know, but I thought he showed occasional sparks of quality.

Edit: work colleague has told me he's injured too.

Let's hope Pelle doesn't pick up a knock!

Gallagher's an odd one. Not sure what the injury is, tthere were rumours it was a personal thing. I heard he was supposed to be going on loan to Reading. He's not really PL quality, to be fair. Hard worker though.

In other news, Jack Cork signed for Swansea today. Around 1.5m, which isn't as good as the 4.5m touted at the beginning of the season, but then his contract is nearly up. Shame, good player with a good attitude. I guess the emergence of Reed and JWP's development never really left any room for him. Apparently he's taken a pay cut to play more regular football. Fair play to him, he could have done a job at a lot of PL teams.

Gallagher back in training although a fair way off first team action.
Not sure Cork took a pay cut but he did move because he wanted to start regularly which Koeman couldn't offer him. Shame as decent bloke and player but have to respect his reasons to go
