It's a tough one too, as the englaish talent in the academy can't just automatically replace the volume that's been sold. It's a shame that any English player seems to have a massive premium on their head as well.

And Alderweireld goes to Spurs - FFS! Had to be that or Liverpool I suppose.

I know we have no right to be disappointed as he was not our player and he would not have gone if the conditions were not right, but I do feel with Toby and Jose, we had a good pairing and that we are losing out to money and not because of capability.

Seems like Morgan will join Clyne and Toby and we need the replacements to be just as good. The club and Ronald pulled it out of the bag last year and I hope they can do the same. Also keen to see JWP progress this year and see if some of the others can break through like Gallagher.

Clasie was left out of Feyenoord's pre-season friendly over the weekend I believe. Lots of links that a deal will be done today or tomorrow on him. Sad to see Spider go, but he's given us 7 decent years and we wouldn't be where we are without him. He could get into any top 4 PL side, and deserves the CL football he so painfully wants.

Only worry is that Clasie's not the biggest physically, and along with Reed (who's surely going to be drip-fed more game time this season), JWP and Davis....well we've only got Wanyama left when push comes to shove!

Just think how we could (potentially) line-up next season:

Forster
Cedric Fonte Van-Dijk Bertrand
Wanyama Clasie
Mane/Jay-Rod Juanmi Long
Pelle

A starting 11 with Mane, Long and Jay-Rod up front, and Pelle waiting to hold-up play in the final third! Would be bloody exciting to watch. And who knows, Gaston might get his act together and start playing like the player we know he can, and we'd have JWP, Davis and Tadic there for depth. I've also been impressed with Isgrove every time I've seen him in pre-season, be nice to see him convert that into league success.

I think it could be a good season biggrin

Just looked at a YouTube compliation on Clasie - could be good value at £8m. Looks promising.

Not sure. The Van Dijk rumours seemed to have disappeared.

I was chewing over going to the Feyenoord game but other expenditure cropped up and I don't fancy being on a coach all that way. I think there are quite a few going.

Vitesse Arnhem then in the UEFA League. Pretty tough start I'd say.

After the 3-0 win over Feyenoord, I am hoping the bookies' odds of 6/1 for Vitesse are accurate by buying a ticket (bargain £15) for the game on Thursday night. COYR!

We still need a centre back unless 1 of the academy is truly ready to step up. I really hope that we can make 1 more signing and heard a rumour that we were in for James Chester.

I prefer the rumour for Loic Perrin. He did amazing for me with Everton on my FIFA 15 career mode hehe

I hear Chester is going to West Brom, so we probably need to look at Perrin/others.

By all accounts we never enquired about him.
Looking forward to the sell out game on Thursday and another trip to Holland next week biggrin

Hearing that Caulker had a medical today, ahead of a loan move. What the fact/fiction ratio is on that I don't know.

Gallagher on loan to MK Dons for the season. I was hoping to see him play for Saints again but hopefully this will give him more competitive games to play and help him sharpen his game.

Singed on loan today. Probably for the best rather than a permanent deal, as he's got some proving to do (like Steklenberg).
Wonder if there's the possibility he's done a deal with QPR where they get promoted again, and he agrees to go back, or leaves completely if they fail?

No return for J-Rod tonight but looks like a strong line-up. Also hear that Vitese are quite strong. Should be a good game
