Just back from the game - absolutely buzzing.

A game that turned after the introduction of three subs - Mane (unplayable) and Wanyama (the beast) for us; Skirtel (oh dear) for them.

Will be dining out on that win for a while, oh yes. biggrin

Had to go out at half time and had been texting with a Liverpool fan. Got in an hour after the game and I could not believe the result. Leicester away next!!!

If we'd lost yesterday and I thought all Euro chances were up the stter, then there's a chance I'd rather Leicester did one over on us. In fact, if I knew we were safely in Euro anyway, I'd be happy to give them the 3 points. That's how much I don't want Spuds to win the league laugh

We joke though - Leicester have got where they are on merit, however they're achieving those results, they are still achieving them. They're winning the games they need to win, and they need to win against us. They may well beat us anyway.

I like the Saints to do well - they're in that tier below the 'usual' top four etc who I like to see given a bloody nose when possible.

But Leics are one of the top four this year, strangely!

So all the best, just not in a fortnight's time!

I am a Saints season ticket holder and will be rooting for Leicester in 2 weeks. Unfortunately couldn't get a ticket.

However, If Leicester are going to blow it against anyone I would be glad if it is us.

A Saints season ticket holder but you must be a Leicester supporter, right ?

If not, I think I'd struggle to convey in polite words precisely what I thought of that statement. confused

Yes a Saints season ticket holder and fan living near Leicester. Right now I would sacrifice an unlikely 3pts to help Leicester's title quest. In my opinion this will be one of the biggest sporting achievements ever, and will be remembered for a lifetime. Saints finishing 7th instead of 8th will soon be forgotten.

Feel free to tell everyone what you think. Many people around me yesterday felt similar.

Nope, still not getting it.

I'd never willingly wish my side to get beat, purely to influence what other teams around us may or may not achieve.

I can only assume you mix in strange circles, because none of the people I go with would come close to sharing your way of thinking.

This is the first time ever I would not be gutted if we lost. Genuinely.

Maybe I mix is strange circles. Regardless, it's all irrelevant what i and you think. Looking forward to the game

Not being gutted if your team lose is a world away from 'rooting for' the opposition on matchday.

My fear is that Leicester beat us, and then fall apart on their remaining games handing the title to Spuds anyway. I'd have a meltdown if they did that laugh

Tottenham have got to be the best side in the league, Leicester have a lot to do!

How about if it's the last game of the season, we're in 9th place with 10th 4 points behind, and the Skates are (somehow) back in the PL in 17th, 1 point ahead of e.g. Swansea, who are 18th. We're playing Swansea.

I'd never want to get beaten so much!

I am with SS2 on this.
I never want us to be beat just to help that team out.
I actually think we can beat Leicester. We only didn't manage it at our place because of shocking kicking from our stand in keeper.
Fair play to them for what they have achieved but Saints are on a roll so lets no ruin it.
Onward and upward.

I don't want us to get beat either, but if we were beaten then there's much more of a silver lining available than there would normally be.

Maybe I'm not a proper fan, but I would still prefer Leciester to pick up the 3 point than us.

Maybe rooting isn't right word.

Either way it's win win!

If Leicester win the PL, football wins full stop. I'd like them to do it by losing to us, and winning all their remaining games though.

Agreed, but right now every win is a major step towards it

Anyway, back to Saints. Great win yesterday, made me realise a few things. Classic is useless. Pelle is useless most the time but has a touch of class. If Wanyama goes we must replace him with someone of true quality

I don't think we are as good as last year, yet we could finish higher. We need 13 points from 7 games to equal last years tally too. I think we will end up on mid 50s as we did with MoPo.

Interesting thoughts.

Saints are capable of beating Leicester, of that I am sure. It won't be easy (is it ever?).

If I thought the next game would decide the PL champions, then very possibly I would not fret over a loss there BUT, there is a lot more football to be played between now and the end of the season. This is not the title deciding game. Saints can quality for Europe and it's very close fourth place and below.

Therefore, I will be rooting for a Saints win as always. I would like little more than Leicester to beat Spurs for the title, but Leicester vs Saints is not the decider.

A strange season so far and I cannot help feeling that we should be 8-10 points better off than we are given some of the poor results we have had. I am sure that every fan feels the same, but losses to Chelsea, a draw with Sunderland and a number of other results disappoint.
Yet we have a good amount of points, I feel we are getting a position as a top 10 team and ideally a top 6 team in the future.

As for the beating Leicester debate, I want to win every game but also want Leicester to win the title on what they do vs other teams capitulating. I hope they win the league but I want us to give them the best game we can and win if possible. I'll be less devastated if we lost than if we lose to Spurs/Man Utd but still upset
