Anyone going to the Testimonial match tonight? As the sun is shining I have treated myself to a ticket. Hopefully we'll see some Blasts from the Past taking part.
Yeah taking the whole brood down. Managed to get seats sitting slap bang in the middle of the Kingsland. tobinen said:
Let's hope Ron's contract talks go well.
From his recent comments, I suspect it's pretty much in the club's hands - if the club matches his obvious ambition and is willing to spend a little to push on, then he'll probably stay. If they tighten the purse strings (and let a few key players go), then I doubt a new contract will be signed.Truckosaurus said:

I was there with my nipper - really enjoyed the night.Thought KD's lad was a cracker, very well received by the crowd - and that's quite some shot he's got on him ! Would have been beyond ironic if the boy had beaten his old man at his near post..
Good to see a lot of the old faces back, too - don't recall Butterfield's crossing in his playing days being as good as some of his deliveries last night !
Also realise how much quality Lee Holmes had - what a shame he spent so much time on the treatment table.
Thanks for the service and the memories, KD - especially that performance against Leeds..
I had a great time last night too. Enjoyed seeing Dan Harding bombing up and down the wing, and to be honest I still feel Puncheon could do a job for us. The chants coming out of the Northam were as good as ever (including "You're just a st Ricky Lambert" when Le Tiss missed his pen!
A lot of dust in the air at the end when Kelvin made his speech, but yeah, his kid's got quite a shot on him!

Of all the signings, he was one of the first that signified a change in the club's direction and I really wanted him to do well. Sadly, other than one superb performance against Villa (and the odd decent touch / goal), he never really got going - he just seemed to be a yard behind on pace and space in the Prem. It'll be interesting to see how he gets on next season.
In terms of cost, IIRC he was £12m to buy and on £60k per week wages - albeit that during his loan to Boro', they were paying £20k, we were paying £20k and Ramirez himself had agreed to a £20k per week pay cut.
Costly, but not a patch on the nutting loon that is Dani Osvaldo.
