So I see we have now sunk so low that even the manager of MK Dons doesn't want to come to us; however, to be fair to Karl Robinson I don't blame him as nobody in their right mind would want to work for the mad Italian! I do however think this is all completely unfair on Steve Evans; it seems clear that Cellino has decided he wants someone else in the job so he really should be honest and get rid of Evans so he (Evans) can draw a line under things and move on....
No, you've had a lucky escape there. Admittedly at MK Robinson has both hands tied behind his back by a chairman who won't spend tuppence, but even so I can't see any evidence that he has the first idea what he's doing.

To be fair I don't really know much about Karl Robinson but the fact we can't even tempt a manager who has just seen his team relegated from the Championship speaks volumes for the mess we're in. Problem is, so long as we have the mad Italian in charge no manager who knows what he's doing will come anywhere near Leeds (and from the sounds of it even some who don't are giving us a wide berth!).

I've seen all the 'next manager' talk but hadn't seen any news that Evans had gone. You appear to confirm that unfortunately for all of us he's still there. TBF he ended the season having done better than I thought he/we would.
Although he did better than I expected I never thought Evans was the man to take the club forward and still don't. However, if Cellino has reached the same conclusion - and he obviously has if he's offering the manager's job to other people - then to me he should at least show Evans a bit of respect and tell him formally he hasn't got a future with the club. I know a lot of these managers are well paid to accept the grief and instability that goes with the position but touting their job around before you've even told them they're superfluous to requirements is not only poor management it's also plain bad manners IMO. Assuming he doesn't just find another club and resign you'd imagine Evans will be given the bullet in the not too distant future but god only knows who we'll get to replace him - nobody with any standing or credibility so long as Cellino remains the owner...

You'll get 25% back at least.

Breaking news, we're now after the Bristol
Rovers manager Daryll Clarke, but may or not have been given permission to speak to him.

Seems like Evans has now issued the equivalent of a plea to Cellino to sack him so he's got closure and can move on; pretty disgraceful way to treat someone IMO and not convinced Clarke would actually be any better than Evans anyway. However, what we really need is to be rid of the mad Italian as we're going nowhere so long as he's around....

ETA: I see Clarke has now agreed to stay at Bristol Rovers so that's two managers of League 1 clubs that have turned us down in the last week. Just hope the Mad Italian is finally waking up and smelling the coffee - Massimo, time to go.

Trouble is he doesn't care what the coffee smells like. frown

I see he's promised 'someone special' (well he's just joined scum & I'm not sure I'd what him anyway. Can you imagine the clash of egos there?) He's so far gone after either managers that were relegated from the Championship or are with league 1 clubs - & these people are meant to take us into the Prem!

I just can't imagine any sane manager with a microgramme of self respect ever wanting to work for him. What on earth must that say about you when it is on your CV?

I'd rather have a sane manager and a team that wasn't a laughing stock. It says a lot that several managers have apparently turned us down. Evans is now the favourite for the job that he already has, absolute farce.

I'd have taken Evans over some of the names we were linked with but it shouldn't have been handled this way.

If MC genuinely wants us to mount a serious promotion challenge he needs to put his hand in his pockets and pay for it. Unfortunately he wants to do it on the cheap and have a say in team matters for his own ego which will only keep us in the championship for another season, if he doesn't get us relegated first that is.

I take your point about Evans relative to some of the other names (although I still don't see him as the man to take us back to Premier League) but given what Cellino's been doing over the last couple of weeks (i.e. touting his job around and making it plain he has no confidence in him) I can't see how Evans could possibly continue to work for him? All just a mess as far as I'm concerned but there'll be no light at the end of the tunnel until we get decent owners who have the best interests of the club at heart and are able to fund the strengthening of the squad which is so obviously needed.

I hope and believe it will albeit I'm not sure when! Cellino seems to have been close to walking away a couple of times but the bloke's so irrational it's hard to know when he's being serious and when he's just playing to the gallery; however, he surely can't be enjoying the experience of owning Leeds so unless he's a complete masochist you'd like to think he'd sell if there was a decent offer on the table. Just have to hope that if and when that offer comes it's also from a decent person (or a decent consortium of people).

Alan Stubbs (Hibs) has already agreed to take over at Rotherham.

Gary Monk, former Swansea boss, now favourite for the job. Potential to be good, however let's see if there's any truth in the story.

At least Evans has finally been put out of his misery; didn't think he was the right man to take the club forward but equally he didn't deserve the shabby treatment he's had over the last few weeks - hope it goes ok for him wherever he ends-up. It will be interesting to see who we get next but still not convinced it will be anyone of any stature so long as they have to work for Cellino....

I don't think he was up to the job at Leeds but that's no excuse to treat him with anything other than a bit of respect in my view; touting his job around to other managers before dismissing him first was both bad management and bad manners IMO....
