With the win yesterday I'd like to think we're now pretty much safe for this season; however, lots of work to be done over the summer if we're going to be competitive in the next campaign. Will our new owner be willing and able to fund what's required and will he trust the existing manager to spend his money?
Absolutely! Watching a few interviews with Cellino I think things might actually be looking positive - he seems to rate the club highly for the right reasons (history, fan base) and sees potential for success not a quick profit.

Maybe we can have a few of our old players back when Norwich come down?

The thing that is bothering me so much is that Leeds was boasting about being one of the most profitable clubs in the country with a £4m profit in 2012. In that time we have not really spent any money on players, sold the majority of out best players, have consistently had very good gate receipts for the championship (and better than half the prem clubs) and are in a similar position in the league and have met expectations in cup runs (out in the 3rd round as usual!). So how then can a club that is all to aware of what a financial meltdown can do for it's future ambitions, go from a £4m profit to a £30m loss in 2 seasons. It's about time someone ran LUFC as a football club and not as an asset stripping exercise.

Well, finally we are 11 points clear of relegation with 3 games (so 9 points max to play for) left. And an owner who appears to be able to pay the bills. That's probably as comfortable as Leeds Utd has been for 6 months. Or 6 years come to that.

Now I await Don Corleone being convicted of something or other and found to be an unfit owner, and Leeds having to be sold to a nasty East End geezer and consortium of Middle-East banks with no money.

Still, Leeds could probably be in the Unibond division 7 (Northern) league and still pull 25,000 every other Saturday, fans stripped to the waist and waving their shirts around in -25C ice storms. Hey ho, roll on 2014-15!

21st league defeat of the season. Can't wait for this season to end. Then the madness of rebuilding will start.

Watched the game in the local... apart from a terribad opening 15 we had a lot of possession but nothing to show for it.

On the plus side I won a game of pool against a good player which is a rarity.

No real surprise but Brian has left by mutual consent. Writing was always on the wall. Mixed feelings about it right now. Lets see who is next.

Much though I would have liked him to stay, I think if he had been with us at the start of the next season then I would have questioned the owners commitment to moving us forward. When a team breaks down to this degree then only wholesale changes can save it, possibly changing 80% of the squad. Buying 1 or 2 new players would have been a waste of money, inevitably not fitting in with the next manager's style.

I read in today's paper that the sale of Cagliari was finally going through, which should hopefully liberate some cash to clear debts and maybe invest in players.

Current favorite for the job is David Hockaday. Ex manager of Forest green rovers his one and only job. I'm not sure if this is real but the bookies have him at 5/2. Cellino has always said he doesn't want a manager just a coach. Maybe nobody else will touch us after BMD was dumped on.

I really feel for Brian, he was led down the garden path by the wkers at GFH. Throughout the entire debacle he behaved like a true gent, wish him the best.

As for us, we needed serious changes and looks like they will be made. Players are due to meet Cellino next week, looks like he will be sizing them up and working out who he wants to get rid of. The sale of Cagliari all hinges on the new owners getting planning permission for a new stadium. It's never simple being a Leeds fan! Toying with the idea of getting a season ticket again after a few seasons of not having one. I'm slightly concerned at Cellino's kids and their role in the running of the club. Eduardo seems to spout off a lot on twitter!

Oh and the arrest of old Beeston Dave is highly suspect. Seems he was due to spill the beans on the issues with GFH and his whole winding up petition is a mindfk. If you have some spare time then give this a read. Brilliant work from Moscowhite as per usual.

His dislike of the number 17 is old news, same for his dislike of the colour purple. Oddball

Yup it's a loss but he seemingly didn't want to stay. Cellino has claimed Ross didn't respect him, didn't want to go on the pre season tour etc. Lets see who we end up replacing him with. Cellino has a record of selling players for top money but not reinvesting the cash in the squad.

Seems we have signed a new goalkeeper, Silvestri from Chevio. Midfielder Tommaso Bianchi has also signed with us and Cellino's sporting director at Cagliari has signed up for two years. Say hello to the new Watford.

Well, it all starts again on Saturday so where do people think we'll finish? I know I'm sounding a touch "glass is half empty" but personally I'll be relieved with anything above the bottom three; mid-table feels like the best we can expect and if we're pushing for the play-offs that will be a pleasant surprise. I reckon automatic promotion is completely out of the question although I'd obviously love to be proved wrong!

Here we go again! I'm predicting a loss against Millwall on Saturday, anyone off down? I'm on the 07:05 train down on my own. Should be a good day out at least.

We still seem to be signing new players. Doubt we will be able to compete without a proper striker, still not sure how I really feel about the sale of McCormack.

Has anyone read this gem of an interview?

I've heard some good things about our recent signings, but no idea how its all going to work out this season. I don't think we'll be near the automatic promotion places but as this league has shown over the last few years, anything can and will happen.
