2 x bids for Chris Wood tonight. Either Radz won't sell or its a short time until we receive a bid high enough for him to go.
We're making all the right noises about keeping him and not selling our best players but if a Premier League side comes knocking on the door with an improved offer I can still see him going. Rumour is Burnley will be back with another bid this week and I guess much depends on Wood himself; if he wants to stay that's great but if he wants to try his hand in the top flight - and who could blame him if he does - we could easily end-up in a similar situation to Liverpool with Coutinho if we're not careful. To give credit to Chris Wood there's been no hint of him trying to engineer a move but if it reaches a point where a Premier League club wants him and he wants to go then I think we should sell and move on; just need to be sure we extract a very high price from whoever buys him and then reinvest that money quickly to strengthen the squad!

Not in the squad v Sunderland tonightJust hope we've extracted a very full price for him from his new club and that the money received is reinvested in full to strengthen the squad!

Good win last night too without him.
£15M seems a bit low. Still, if he doesn't want to be there, so be it. We don't seem to be doing badly so far, from what I hear we perhaps have a better balanced team now. That leaky defence in the first game seems to have got shored up, even if it is only work in progress, that £15M should help bring in some more proper talent.
It does seem a bit low. He will end up being stuck at Burnley or shipped off to another Championship team in a year or two for about £4 million. Sad to see him go but we will find someone else. It was nice to see Becchio at the game on Saturday supporting Leeds, never looked the same player during his whole 13 games at Norwich.

To be honest if someone had said to me this time last year they'd give us £15 million for Chris Wood (£18 million including potential add-ons?) I wouldn't have believed them but would have bitten their hand off if I thought they were serious! A year later the market seems to have gone crazy but I still think £15 million plus is a pretty good deal for us for someone who isn't proven at Premier League level. At the end of the day Wood gave us decent service and you can't blame him for wanting to play and test himself at the top level; therefore, I say good luck to him and hope the club invests the proceeds wisely (and the vibes are good in the sense the owner's saying the money will be reinvested in the squad).
Perhaps a shame he didn't play against Sunderland on Saturday given he was still being paid by Leeds but I'm still not clear whether he refused or it was just agreed that it was better he didn't. Get the feeling it might have been more the latter and in the after-match interview I personally thought Christiansen handled questions on the issue very well.

5-0
Undefeated after 6, up to clear 2nd in the table, 2 points short of the top and +10 on goal difference. I'll take that! For now...
From the Radio Leeds commentary, we seemed to be absolutely on fire, really going after the ball and playing some attractive footie. 69% possession and 30 shots versus 1. I know it was "only" Burton, but in the past Leeds have been massively guilty of just not turning up to matches like that. The new lads certainly seem to be settling in nicely.

What a game, what a fking game!
Yes we were playing against a side who weren't great but like you said we've been guilty of being complacent and scraping a point against sides like that in previous seasons.
Started off well, this new passing lark is a joy to watch. Lasogga looked good considering he hasn't played much football this year. The little flicks and passes from Saiz and Hernandez were amazing to watch.
Cracking atmosphere, over 33k in attendance. With over 20k season tickets sold this year and plenty of changes behind the scenes it's apparent that Andrea Radrizzani knows what he's doing. The £10k cheque that was present to Gary Speed's parents for the Gary Speed foundation was a nice touch too.

10 different scorers so far this season makes life difficult for teams to mark someone out of the game. Roofe getting a run is finally showing a return. I'd read some reports on Lasogga saying there were question marks as he wasn't that fruitful in front of goal last season but 2 on his debut will knock that back.

A bit more of a test tonight, but that was only to be expected given Brum's spending on players. At times we could have conceded but, rather importantly, we didn't. Cardiff lost so...
Top of the table!
When teams get on a roll like this, they get scared of losing, and winning (hopefully) becomes a habit. Of course it can't last for another 39 games, but by crikey we seem to have the core of an absolutely cracking team. We only usually get these sorts of teams just before the transfer window opens and we lose everyone!

& we are already planning to boost the squad in January, we lost out last January by not boosting a thin squad. This time it looks like we will be enhancing a strong squad - Really looking forward to Saturday & hopefully also beating Burney next Tuesday
