That song gets played after every game at Elland Road, you're not special!
Oh but we are!
And the way in which you celebrated only compounds that. Keep ya chins up! biggrin

If you were that special you'd go an enjoy your promotion in your own thread with your own fans rather than fishing for bites in the Leeds thread. Even your social media team were posting about the Kaiser Chiefs song (why are you all obsessed with that?) after promotion was confirmed on Friday. I love the banter but it's a bit small club mentality to immediately think about your rivals rather than enjoy your own achievement.

Also enjoy the moment but remember how quickly it can swing around. Derby thought they were special when they beat us in the 2019 Play Offs then blew the final and ended up in League One whilst we had 3 years in the Premier League. It's possible we could relegate you next season!

Were you at the game in Feb. when you beat us 3:1, and then celebrated like you’d actually done something special? It was so over the top, and THAT is why it is being referenced now! laugh The ‘small club’ mentality was shown by Leeds celebrating so much after beating the ‘Big Club’ LCFC!! clap

As for celebrating, I did plenty this weekend locally and only popped on PH this morning to check the footie threads.

We will certainly enjoy our moment, back where we belong with the other Premier League and FA Cup Winners from the past 30 years! <ouch> rofl

Coming from behind in a game against the league leaders who'd blown a 17 point gap and being happy about it, oh no, whatever next?!

That song is often played after games. Enjoy your achievement and stop worrying about us. You need to worry about next season's points deduction.

I'd sooner watch Leeds in non league than follow a soulless club that needs a drum to generate atmosphere.

If you belonged there then you wouldn't have had to cheat your way to get back up.

Btw you're already in the same league with a similar sized Premier League winner, Blackburn.

It's not over yet guys!

We've got to get a result at Coventry tonight AND beat Huddersfield under immense pressure Saturday.

I can see us missing out, I really can.

Weirdly I don't know how I feel either. Of course the financial reward is beyond comprehension, but VAR, inability to celebrate a goal without fear....the EFL has been amazing, Championship and the other leagues.

Leicester, Leeds, Ipswich, Southampton, Hull, Norwich, Sunderland....all massive clubs, battling it out in what feels like an honest representation of football.

Didn't feel like we've been playing in the Championship!

What a season.

What. A. Season.

Loved every second, no matter what.

Precisely that. Any normal season with us on 90 points would have us clear at the top, the fact that we could potentially end on 93 in third shows how great a season it's been.

Four points from two games … definitely achievable for Ipswich. Huddersfield are down (bar a very freak result) so you’d like to think they’ll be under no pressure to force the situation and are playing for pride only. Likewise Coventry tonight, can’t get in the play-offs so where’s the motivation …

Big game at the weekend - Plymouth at home to Hull …

My IT-supporting mate couldn’t bear to watch all of the Midd v Leeds game … !

It makes that ‘I Predict A Riot’, over the top celebrating when you beat us look a little silly now! hehenono Good luck in the playoffs. Love from a happy Leicester Fan.
You're right. We should stand in stoic silence until the point of promotion, only then should we exchange a brisk handshake with the person next to us and quietly make our way home.

We bottled it when it mattered. We’ll do the same in the playoffs.

Side note - don’t feed the billy no mates troll, no matter how pathetic he is

1. It's not over yet, but Ipswich have put themselves in a great position, it has to be said.

2. That Blackburn at home result was a poor one - let alone last Friday - two matches where you had to get something.

3. Play-offs are a different kettle of fish. Start afresh - you have to if you want to stand a chance.

Fair play to Ipswich, they were tested at times by Coventry tonight and had the answers. I personally think the biggest step up in the entire football league pyramid is from League One to the Championship, so for Ipswich to be on the verge of back to back promotions is an outrageous achievement. They're the real deal.

It says a lot about Leeds that we managed to beat the top two twice each, including that comprehensive 4-0 win at home to Ipswich, but lost ground in scrappy games against teams like Preston, Stoke & Blackburn. Hull at home was an interesting illustration of our season - they came to play football and gave us a great game but eventually fell away and lost 3-1. We play better against teams that try to play, and have no plan B for when teams set up to park the bus.

I can't see any way Ipswich don't get at least a point from their final game and, assuming they do, I'll say well played, with the points total you've got you absolutely deserve to be promoted.

From our perspective, though, there's no getting away from the fact we were in a great position entering the international break and have blown it big style. The QPR performance and result was awful but for me it's the one point from six in the home games against Sunderland and Blackburn that really cost us - we should have had two wins from those games and our destiny would still be in our own hands if we had.

But that's history now and, as you say, we somehow need to start afresh to have any chance in the play-offs - the question is can we? Our form since the international break has been poor - we haven't played well even in the games we've won - plus of course there'll be a huge psychological let-down after being so close to automatic promotion and messing it up. So Farke's now got a huge task on his hands and, while I hope I'm wrong, I can see us getting eliminated at the semi-final stage, especially if Hull come up on the rails and beat WBA to sixth place.....

We still need to beat Huddersfield.

Leeds hadn't lost all season at home then did, so these results can and do happen.

I'm more hopeful than confident.

Can quite easily see Huddersfield going 1-0 really early and then sitting back giving us a torrid time :-(

The way this season has gone for all of us with twists and turns, i'd not bet against any outcome.

You need a draw, you don't need to win. But you'll get a draw (at least) by trying to win ... if you try and get a draw, you'll probably lose!

But Huddersfield haven't been relegated by accident - they are where they are for a reason - namely nine wins from 45 games and a goal difference of -27. So they are a poor side. And their fans are not going to want to get Leeds promoted ...

As an Ipswich fan, I really hope Huddersfield just can't be bothered. It's amazing though that Leeds are not going up automatically. The are a cracking team and a pleasure to watch. I hope they go up in the play offs, they deserve it.

Thank you and well done to Ipswich - with 96 points a very well deserved promotion!

Today I thought we were very much second best to a Southampton team that's been out of form recently and that doesn't bode well for the playoffs. However, unless we rediscover some form we won't be playing them again anyway - the way we're performing I can't see us getting past Norwich in the semi-final....
