Well, somebody had to start one, so it might as well be me.........

Followed them for many years, well remember my dad taking me to Bert Trautmann's testamonial match at Maine road, was in the "crowd" when City had their lowest ever home attendance in January 1965 (8,005) against Swindon Town, (Mike Summerbee turned out for Swindon), saw Colin Bell's and Frannie Lee's City debuts, and best of all was in the crowd at Newcastle in May '68 when City beat Newcastle 4-3 to clinch the (old) First division Championship ahead of United...

Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison the dream ticket...cloud9

Pity we haven't done that much since though......

Anybody else on here??.......scratchchin

I was in David Makins office back in about 1990 after City had been thrashed by somebody or another. He told me that he had walked out before the end and looked across at Peter Swales sat in the directors box and vowed that they would own the club one day. You hear a lot of those sort of stories but with David I believed it. Sure enough............

I remember the infamous phone in one Saturday night on Greater Manchester Radio with Jimmy Wagg when after another defeat Dave Makin called into the studio and basically said "Right that's it, I've had enough, next week I'm going to do something about it"........rage Now, chaiman and business partner John Wardle has clearly had enough and is just waiting for some rich benefactor to come in and inject some SERIOUS money into the club, so he can enjoy his well earned retirement...Top guys are John and Dave...

City really need to hang on to Stuart Pearce, as at the moment, he is only learning the game, but (imo) will turn into one of the great managers like Brian Clough and Don Revie......

You are not alone I too am a long suffering City fan. There have been some good times along the way (23/9/89) & the play off final against Gillingham to mention just 2 (In fact there probably was only 2!)

My earliest City memory was the infamous Dennis Law back heal, I remember my dad putting my hood up on my coat saying 'you don't want to catch a cold son' when really he was concerned at the content of the language traded between the fans in song hehe I know I had the pleasure of earlier matches but to be honest I don't recall any.

Since that wonderful day I have been smitten and have followed my beloved City home and away. Through it all from the 76 LC final to playing truant and 2 visits to Wembley in a week. Walked out at 4-0 in the full members cup and did the same when we played the Gills, only to be told by a copper 'what you doing, you've f'in well equalised’yikes I ran back like a greyhound and can honestly say that I have never experienced a range of emotions like that day since, even when my boy was born and I saw the ugly little blighter come into this world.

I do miss standing on the Kippax singing my heart out with my mates, taunting the away fans with childish hand signals (with the bigger boys...of course) and causing sheer havoc on the old 148 bus back to Cheadle Hulme.

I have followed the boys into Europe albeit not to any great stadia, as Lokeren and the even more remote Groklen Dyskapolska would make somewhere like 'Royston Vasey' look like a Metropolis. In Poland the last time the locals saw as many foreigners they were wearing Jack Boots and doing swilly walks.

Great players, we've had our share from the Bell, Lee, Summerbee's to the understated ultra cool Deyna, the energy and gusto of Shawn W-P and the exqistely talented Kinkladze (Boy I wish there was just one other player in that team that was anywhere near his level of awareness and ability) Anelka was/is sheer class and I would have loved to see him play along side a poacher with the finishing ability and positioning of Clive Allen.

The fans are fantastic, they have to be putting up with a team which is able to snatch a defeat from the jaws of victory on an all too often basis, and putting up with mismanaged transfer funds and a board with a combined business acumen of only surpassed by TVR. That said being a City fan is something special, it's in the blood, maybe even a touch of insanity, but one thing for sure is certain.....I KNOW I AM.... I'M SURE I AM...I'M CITY 'TILL I DIE bounce

One more City fan here thumbup

My old man's a City fan (yes Lazy, we know there's a song about that ) and named me after Colin Bell. Don't get to the games that much tbh even though I'm fairly local. Most of my mates jumped on the big red bandwagon years ago and I don't fancy sitting on my own so am happy being an armchair supporter.

GMR reckon we're trying to land Mido from Spurs for £3m , I reckon we've got enough strikers - what we need is a goalscorer to replace Cole/Anelka instead of Vassell scoring 1 in 10 chances and don't even start on Corradi.

A bit of creativity in midfield (or just about anywhere really!) wouldn't go amiss.
I love City, but the football they are playing at the moment is soooo boring

Southampton today in the FA cup, fingers crossed ay?

Looks like we may be getting a new forward at last www.eurosport.com/football/premiership/2006-2007/sport_sto1087674.shtml

At least it looks like he can score 1 on 1's with the keeper! http://youtube.com/watch?v=0qzsrzN8TC

Yeah, just seen this on

http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?h

We could do with him for Sunday if Vass is out. I noticed from the Utube vid that he can use both feet; a left side front man is just what we need.
