City hold all the cards in this case.

He signed a contract last year that runs out when he's 35. He's going nowhere good at that age.

If he wants to be a dick stick him in the reserves.

Or stick £100 mil tag on him and see if anyone is stupid enough to pay it...will solve the FFP issues with that sale.
^^^THIS.

Player power means nothing at Citeh, because they can afford to stick him in the reserves for 4 yrs just to make a point to any other divas.

And I hope they do. Bloody Yaya Toure, it's like having 2 extra men on the pitch. Rules need to be changed, 11 a side or 8+ Yaya Toure.

Sounds to me like an excuse for him to call time on his City days, Barca will have him back in a heartbeat and it wouldn't surprise me if the Catalans are behind this all. They're Slimey s like that.

Maybe he genuinely misses being at a big club. Not saying City isn't a big club in today's world but compared to the two spanish teams they still have a monopoly on almost every one. When they come calling most seem to listen.

The prem will be poorer without him.

If he doesn't want to be there, either let him go for silly money, or don't play him.

I miss the times when players actually cared about the club they played for.

He signed a contract. Tough titties if he's not happy now.

Disagree. If a player really wants to leave he'll leave. He's on too much money for City just to let him rot in the reserves.....City have to balance the books now and a player on more than £10mil a year is a very expensive asset.

There are a lot of players rotting in the City stiffs earning good money. Ship a couple extra out of the door and that's equivalent to Toure's chunky annual stipend.
Firm threat of an extended period in the reserves, 6 months in there (if necessary) will possibly do the trick. Slightly enhanced contract to the new 15m pa benchmark will see Yaya baking his own birthday cake.
