Great match for the neutrals but it must have been a nightmare for City fans.

Is there something fundamentally wrong with what Pellegrini is doing?

I know with the likes of Liverpool, Arse and Spurs we have genuine grievances regarding formations, defensive tactics, players selected, etc. However with City is just seems like the players aren't up for it? Bar perhaps some slight defensive tweaks, the players seem to be the right ones, playing in the right way, you're just not getting the performance out of some of these big names?

It's a combination of a lot of things as I see it. Confidence is low, the new signings aren't good enough or haven't gelled yet, 2nd season syndrome identical to the season after we last became champions - players think we are better than we are, teams know they can sit back and hit us on the break with pace, our build up play is too pedestrian, not enough competition for places, no youngsters ever come through the ranks, we didn't replace 20 goal Negrado, Toure/Silva/Kompany's form is off, we rigidly stick to 4-4-2 (especially in Europe), we are supposed to be playing a high pressing game but there's not enough intensity/desire to win the ball back.

I could go on! Pelegrini is to blame for some and the players too. My main bugbear is we spend squillions on training facilities and youth development and the young lads never get a chance. We need to bring young players on because the average age of the team is high and we need a lot of energy for the way we want to play. This would seem like a no brainer with the FFP restrictions (which I don't blame directly for our poor form).

Who was the big attacking lad you used a fair bit in pre-season? He looked immense. Had a good World Cup as far as I remember too.

Weird that you can say there is little competition for places given the amount you've spent assembling the squad.

There is something amiss this season, Cant put my finger on it, but there doesnt seem to be the hunger and desire of last season, Cant blame the new signings because the stalwarts aint performing close to their standard.
On the season so far, Yaya has to go for me, there is definitely an issue there, he says nowt for 4 years then starts piping up with little grumbles, and his game this year is not good, its not the Yaya we know, let him go before the egg turns bad.

We go on about the facilities and what is being created at the Campus, but as said there is nothing prominent showing that will force a way into the 1st team, I know its a big ask to get an academy kid into what we portray ourselves as a big hitter in Europe, but we aint done it, we talk about doing it, Them lot over the road continue to do it.

Iheanacho - that's the lad I was thinking of. Looks like you've loaned him out due to work permit issues.

Shedloads on general sale.
For a game against Bayern Munich. Absolute madness.

I'm not going.
It's a school night and it's on telly.
I haven't the spare money or the time to go I'm afraid.
And my club don't force me to buy a ticket or threaten me with sanctions if I don't want to go.

There's your chance then CIE, after all it's going to be the only place you'll be able to watch CL in Manchester for at least the next couple of years smile
