My earliest City memory was the infamous Dennis Law back heal, I remember my dad putting my hood up on my coat saying 'you don't want to catch a cold son' when really he was concerned at the content of the language traded between the fans in song I know I had the pleasure of earlier matches but to be honest I don't recall any.
Since that wonderful day I have been smitten and have followed my beloved City home and away. Through it all from the 76 LC final to playing truant and 2 visits to Wembley in a week. Walked out at 4-0 in the full members cup and did the same when we played the Gills, only to be told by a copper 'what you doing, you've f'in well equalised’ I ran back like a greyhound and can honestly say that I have never experienced a range of emotions like that day since, even when my boy was born and I saw the ugly little blighter come into this world.
I do miss standing on the Kippax singing my heart out with my mates, taunting the away fans with childish hand signals (with the bigger boys...of course) and causing sheer havoc on the old 148 bus back to Cheadle Hulme.
I have followed the boys into Europe albeit not to any great stadia, as Lokeren and the even more remote Groklen Dyskapolska would make somewhere like 'Royston Vasey' look like a Metropolis. In Poland the last time the locals saw as many foreigners they were wearing Jack Boots and doing swilly walks.
Great players, we've had our share from the Bell, Lee, Summerbee's to the understated ultra cool Deyna, the energy and gusto of Shawn W-P and the exqistely talented Kinkladze (Boy I wish there was just one other player in that team that was anywhere near his level of awareness and ability) Anelka was/is sheer class and I would have loved to see him play along side a poacher with the finishing ability and positioning of Clive Allen.
The fans are fantastic, they have to be putting up with a team which is able to snatch a defeat from the jaws of victory on an all too often basis, and putting up with mismanaged transfer funds and a board with a combined business acumen of only surpassed by TVR. That said being a City fan is something special, it's in the blood, maybe even a touch of insanity, but one thing for sure is certain.....I KNOW I AM.... I'M SURE I AM...I'M CITY 'TILL I DIE
Hi Cooky, my grandad's brother Sam Cookson played for City in the 20's .... just wondered if you were related? Or maybe you just like biscuits? Played really well last night. Well done.
Silva looked a class apart. Easily the best looking team of the weekend.
Early doors but looking like the team that will run off in to the distance this season.
Good luck for the season.
Calm down you played West Brom whos stupid manager went 4-4-2 against one of the best teams in the Prem - only 1 outcome Silva looked a class apart. Easily the best looking team of the weekend.

PS get used to those misses from Sterling - used to drive me insane at Anfield
west brom gave one of the worst premiership performances I've seen in the last few years. They capitulated after 1 minute, honestly you would think they were employed by city so many times did they pass the ball to city.
But take nothing away from Silva, imo the best player in the prem over the last 4-5 seasons.I watched him pick united apart twice for valenica, and mentally pleaded with fergy to sign him.Apparently he wasnt deemed strong enough by fergy (but the likes of kagawa were ??)

Rubbish!I thought WBA tried hard for most of the match. A lot of teams would have given up after going 3 down but they didn't.
OK they were outclassed by a team who were up for it but to describe it as the worst PL performances of the last few years?
There were worse this weekend alone. At least they did get the ball in the back of the net themselves and had more than 1 shot on target!

Think what you want stu ,I thought they were pathetic, tactically woeful and when they had the ball under no pressure they passed it back to city players, continuously. The worst performance in recent years..maybe not,but it was atrocious.I take nothing away from city you can only beat what is in front of you,in this instant it wasn't a lot .I thought WBA tried hard for most of the match. Ok, huge game tomorrow for both clubs, (Whatever both managers would like us to think), a great opportunity for City to go five points in front of Chelsea with two games gone, I just think we will have too much firepower for them and win fairly comfortably..

I've a feeling they'll be more than happy with a draw. Let's hope we get an early goal and it forces them to move the bus.
I'll be on the road in France so it'll be late tonight before I hear the result
