I understand the owners want to progress further in the CL. I'm not sure if even they expect to win it this year tbh.
Premiership? Well we've won it twice in the last 4 years so it's a bit meh wink

What a dire decision to award a penalty. Once again Clattenburg the glory hunter -"it's all about me"! Joke of a referee

Think we need to see those off side calls analysed.

Why? Won't change the result any more than analysing Tourre's 2 bookable challenges in the first 15 mins.

The penalty was a litte harsh on city, that I do agree on,

Harry should have blasted it wide shouldn't he .

Another important decision went against us, we have got to win the next four games to stay in contention...no excuses.

Well played Tottenham, you have a good side.

Penalty was dodgy (no surprise Clattenburg was involved - my Spurs supporting neighbour agreed that (a) he didn't have a good view of it and (b) if he did, he could not give a penalty) and I thought a couple of offsides went against us.

We both agreed a draw was a fair result.

We're only 4 points behind Spurs though (the favourites now, for me), so if they suffer a few injuries and we get more of our lads back, it's not inconceivable that we can catch them. Can't afford any more slip ups though.

It was a dubious penalty, but I like seeing professional footballers being penalised for cowardice, ie turning your back on the ball, your job is to stop the ball coming in to the box, if it hits you in the face etc then you suffer a bit of pain but you have done your job, turning your back just shows you're a coward, any decent manager should fine you if you turn your back on a cross/shot, the Danny Rose block from a shot in the first half showed total commitment, that is how you should defend. I don't support either team it just annoys me watching these guys st themselves from a ball.

I don't agree with the cowardice charge tbh

Fair enough, but would you not rather a player faced the ball and actually tried to stop the ball potentially going in the goal or box, turning your back means (a) you have no idea where the ball is and (b) you're a coward, just my opinion.

The Danny Rose block was a case of him being in the right place at the wrong time, he never intentionally blocked the shot, his piss poor attempt at cheating in the second half showed his true colours.

he did block the ball (fairly) so this is a bit of a ridiculous comment

Had Sterling stayed on the ground the penalty wouldn't have been given. It would have been deemed accidental. But Sterling decided to jump so was judged to have deliberately blocked the cross and by turning his back the ball hit his arm. Sorry, it was a penalty.

not sure why you are apologising!
It was obviously a penalty because it was given, however in hindsight Clattenberg given the replay would never have given it as it hit Sterlings back and glanced his elbow. Ridiculous decision from a crap referee who cares more about how he looks than how he refs a game

Just an opinion. There seems to be little consistency at the margin to what constitutes a penalty and what doesn't. I think had he stayed with his feet on the ground and if the ball had hit him while he was turning away to protect himself, the ref wouldn't have called it against Sterling. But he was in the area, he jumped to block and in doing so the ball hit part of his arm therefore reducing the opportunity for Spurs. By physically turning he increased the risk of contact with his arms because he couldn't see the flight of the ball so while the decision was very tough on City, Sterling's decision to jump, block and turn while in the area was at this level very high risk.
