I suppose it's a case of damage limitation now and if the score ends like this it'll be a good result.

City do tend to play well with 10 men so maybe there'll be a surprise.

Is Messi the most overrated player in history?

Bit of a lifeline there at the end with the penalty save, City not out of it yet.

Outplayed.
Out thought.
Crowd pretty quiet.
Barca barely broke sweat - frighteningly good.
Hart has kept you in it, by a whisker.
But it could be unpleasant viewing for the second leg.

I've given Joe plenty of stick in the past, but he's now back to his best, brilliant save from Messi, all to play for now in the second leg at Barca, but obviously we'll be starting as underdogs....

All the time though, the players are getting more experience of playing in Europe, which will stand us in good stead for the future.....

Could have been a lot worse....

Yes, 2-3 goals worse. At least. City competed for maybe 20 minutes. Otherwise, it was all Barca.
I would expect City to raise their game in the next leg. But they are out in all but name.
Bad news for the EPL as City are ahead of all but Chelsea in terms of points and capability.

You'd be underdogs if you were going with a 2-1 lead! I think no hopers is the phrase you're looking for.

Still, stranger things have happened.....although none spring readily to mind.
