Don't really understand the comments about Real Madrid being there for the taking? They looked like the team they are, one of the best in Europe, very experienced in rhe CL and a team that hadn't conceded a goal at home in this CL.
I also don't get the comments about Augero? He was very isolated because of the way Real pressed. What was he supposed to do, hang around the penalty area waiting for the odd occasion when the ball was there and promptly be off side?
Real were easily the better side and its credit to City they only got one. If we'd have won (and it could have happend after the 0-0 at the Etihad) then we would have done a Chelsea, and reached the final despite not being one of the best teams in the competition. It wouldn't have diminished the achievement though

That was a really odd game. I think that one of the commentators mentioned that City's players looked as though they didn't really believe that they had the right to be there and IMO City consistently look less than the sum of their parts in Europe - whoever they have playing for them.
Is there really that feeling around the club? Can Pep change it?

I don't think they are one of the best in Europe. City played average at best over two legs and Real only scored 1 goal against you. They were more concerned with not conceding a goal rather than winning the game and that isn't the Real I know. I think they would have been beaten had they come up against Barca or Bayern.I also don't get the comments about Augero? He was very isolated because of the way Real pressed. Absolutely diabolical display from them tonight.
De Bruyne and Aguero disappeared for about 80 minutes. Even when they realised the time was almost up there was no urgency whatever.
Really hoping Atletico give Real a battering because they deserve it.
The difference in Europe is that one or two wont be able to do it. You will need quality everywhere. Blaming those two is a bit harsh. Aguero is by far and away your best player, I doubt that fact had escaped Real Madrid. Thats when you expect someone else to step up to the mark. Hope you get back on track at the weekend.
It had nothing to do with luck. City didn't show up for their biggest game of the season.Hope you get back on track at the weekend.
Kudos to them for getting there though.

Yes, they came up short but didn't suffer the humiliation that the red media expected and hoped for. Unfortunately, as per my previous post, Yaya didn't prove me wrong, he slowed the game to a pedestrian pace, passed well but huffed and puffed around the midfield doing not much else. I don't know why anyone is surprised, he's been doing it all season.

City are finally getting a proper World Class manager, he'll bring a winning mentality and the structure at the club will allow him to develop the team as best as he canBlack can man said:

Best showing by an English side in Europe.
But odd how some of these 'massive games' never get going. United had two ECL finals where they barely got out of second gear.
City are capable of much more and Pep should be the man to realise their potential.

Depends on what players he has. The most successful managers are usually the ones who buy the best players. Except Ranieri this season ...if CIty has their work ethic they'd be a lot better, witness Kolorov at Southampton ... and Toure nearly every game ...
Real were deffo there for the taking, under Zidane I dont think they will do much, he allows team to much time on the ball, they backed so far off you it was unreal - if you had all hunted them down in packs there would have been a number of mistakes by them as the Defenders are anything but comfortable under pressure....
For me you could have beaten them and I think you missed a massive opportunity

Aside from his first season with us, when he was truly dreadful, would anyone rather see Demichelles on the bench than Mangala? The second half of his second season with us he was genuinely really strong.
Mangala. However, is constantly a liability.
Albeit, he hasn't been at the club as long.

Yeah it was pretty poor that. Fair enough the result is disappointing, but even so that's a pretty stty way to behave. You'd have thought they would at least want to take the opportunity to sit in the sun a bit longer.
I wouldn't blame him for fielding a complete no hoper team against Swansea, just as a final 'thanks'. He won't of course, he's far classier than that, but it would be deserved. Wonder what Pep will make of it.
edit to add a piccy of the players coming out after the game for the parade..
