Oh God, the other one will be along in a minute banghead

To be fair I can't even argue the result. It should probably have been 5-1 at halftime. I can't remember seeing us so inept, so enjoy it while you can. There's even a slim chance we might have a couple of games against you next year, but I'm not banking on it.

The way you seemed to give up at 3-1 was probably most dsiturbing from a Wolves point of view. Mick seemed a bit shellshocked afterwards.

I didn't even see our goal cos I buggered off for half time early and I never do that. I've watched us lose 6-0 at home and seen more effort than yesterday. If we strung 3 passes together in the whole first half I didn't see it, and after half time when that simple pass went out of play it set the stage. We looked clueless and uninterested and I was embarassed tbh.

Not to take it away from your lot, you wanted it more, played better and looked a classier outfit all round.

I'm struggling to think of 3 worse teams than us at the moment. I don't think we'll get cut adrift but it will be a last day of the season job again. Will we survive? I don't know, and after yesterday I almost don't care. Still, good job we've expanded the ground eh?!

With Wigan and Blackburn starting to win, you'll have to rely on Villa dropping like a stone into the bottom 3. Now there's a thought! What's the capacity of Molineux going to be once the new stand is done?

Ooh, Villa going down, there's a thought to warm the cockles of my blackened heart hehe

Capacity will be about 32,500 (not suprisingly they've postponed the next phase rofl) If I'm honest I'm suprised at the predicament that both our teams are in, I thought we had improved from last year but the promoted teams have come and done really well. Obviously your boys will have a bounce (a boing if you will!) from yesterday's result. God knows where our next points are coming from, we will see what the character of the players is like now.

As I said earlier, I can't see us getting cut adrift but a repeat of last season wouldn't be a suprise for either of our teams. I can see you moving on to secure safety relatively comfortably and I can see us needing other results on the last day of the season.

Mick's just been sacked.

Probably inevitable but I have a lot of time for Mick.

I have very mixed feelings on this. I too have an enormous amount of time for him, I admire his honesty and the fact that he never sought to make excuses or blame others. Turning us into a premiership team considering the situation he inherited was an amazing achievement and something for which we will always be grateful.

On the downside he was tactically naive on occasion and some of his signings haven't worked. Maybe his expertise is in raising up lower league sides?

I'm still sorry to see him go, especially after such an embarassment at the weekend. He didn't deserve it and I think some of the players need to take a long, hard look at themselves.

Edit, As for the timing, it is far from ideal - who knows if the board have already sounded someone else out. The modern wisdom seems to be that there is a temporary bounce in performances with a new manager. 3 or 4 wins will likely make the difference between staying up and not. It does smack of desperation though.

We did the same last year, by sacking Roberto Di Matteo. The only logic to doing this is if you have a successor lined up, which we evidently did at the time.

Feel sorry for Mick, but a new manager may well be able to create an upturn in results - a couple of wins will make a big difference to Wolves' survival prospects! But who? Warnock? wink

Shame to see Mick go, I always liked him at Sunderland and never agreed with sacking him then despite our terrible season.

Steve Bruce in? hehe
