Can't see it being Rafa, however I think it could be Gareth Southgate, as he'd do well in the event you do go down too IMO, developing youth for the first team and reducing wage bill etc.

Edit, As for the timing, it is far from ideal - who knows if the board have already sounded someone else out. The modern wisdom seems to be that there is a temporary bounce in performances with a new manager. 3 or 4 wins will likely make the difference between staying up and not. It does smack of desperation though.

I wouldn't bet on that, QPR havent faired any better under Hughes than under warnock
I didn't say I agreed with it smile

But who? Warnock?
yikes I hope not.

I too had a lot of time for Mick, yesterday's performance was shocking though, the worst I've seen in a very long time (and I stood on the terraces during the Bhatti Brothers period).

Albion were by far the better side yesterday.

Onwards and upwards hopefully now......

Looks like you're a Wolves fan now O.D. Good man wink

Thoughts on Chris Hughton anyone? The managers being spoken about don't inspire me (to say the least) I reckon he would be good for us both now and if we went down.

Hey, you turn your back for five minutes and look what you get accused of! I thought this sort of disrespect only happened on the Liverpool/Spurs/Man United threads! wink

Hughton would do well, if you can tempt him away from Blues. I'd like Blues to slip up, then we might be able to keep Ben Foster. So go right ahead and unsettle him!

I really don't want Steve Bruce or Alan Curbishly - If they apply, I'll put forward my very professional footballing CV and do it myself.

I hope Steve Bull doesn't randomly get it either, couldn't organise Stafford Rangers, never mind a premiership team.

I'll miss MM, as he's got us to the position we're in today, but changes need to made sharpish, the next month or so will decide whether we stay up or not so we need a new manager in quick time.

ps pretty harsh on mick. i thought he had the team playing some pretty good football. for whatever reason the results just weren't coming in - bad luck maybe.

If you do get steve bruce as manager expect another hammering in your next game he likes to play rubbish against newcastle.
He is a good scout but he isn't a manager and I think you will still be in the relegation battle.

Well, I wish Terry well.

It must be quite a daunting task he`s faced with.
