I feel sorry for Moyes. He did a great job at Everton and we were lucky to have him for 11 years. Don't forget there was plenty of concern about whether Martinez could maintain Everton in the sort of position we had become accustomed to and I doubt that many people envisaged that we would be where we are right now putting in a serious challenge for 4th. My various concerns at the moment:

1)Martinez will be on a lot of lists when there is a managerial vacancy at a big club.
2)Can we retain Barry, Delofeu and Lukaku for another season just to stay where we are?
3)If we can achieve 2, do we then have enough money to strengthen this year's team? I see we are being linked with a couple of young English players this week so I guess we are looking for cheap players to improve rather than bringing in established performers. I like this approach though - polar opposite of Man City who have usurped Arsenal who spent 40 years as my most hated team.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Moyes eventually fetching up at a European club like Newcastle.

I do remember speaking to an Evertonian who doubted Martinez was up to the task when I mentioned I thought he was a crackin' manager and had done well at Wigan. Can't think who it was, but they've posted in this thread once or twice hehe

I think Barry is a done deal, he's out of contract in the summer so it will just be wages and I hear he's settled and happy. Don't know on Delefeou, hope we get another season because he could really shine but wouldn't be surprised if he goes back to Barca. Lukaku, who knows?

Have you seen some of the jokers in the manure thread? Not only do they want Roberto but they also want half of our first team...

I suppose they are setting their sights on 5th next season? smile

I do feel sorry for Moses Moyes. I was and still am a big fan. Very greatful for what he did for us. Been treated shockingly. IMO Woodward should be given his papers too.

BTW I was one of the Martinez doubters. I've been blown away by the performance and change of style we've down this season. I wouldn't be a evertonian if I was positive about the future would I! You wait.. We'll be in a relegation dog fight next season! wink

Looks like we've got Gerald for another season, great news as I really think he will kick on next season. What do we all think of the rumours on Cleverley and Wellbeck? I think RM is a man who can do no wrong at the moment, but I would see that as a big risk to his reputation.

Not a chance. The Catalans are at their wits end with Pedro, Tello and Alexis. Large majority of fans wanted Duffleou (sp?) back early.
Looks like we will have Dufflecoat for one more season

Just managed to get a couple last night myself, was hoping for 3 as Alfa Phil sometime ventures this far souff biggrin

Need, and hoping for 3 points, but Southampton, even though they are slightly out of form, will be tough game. 2-2 i reckon.

Its going to be real tough getting a result tomorrow, but we are capable so COYB. See its not took long for the gutter press to link RM with the Barcelona job. I think its going to be a couple of more seasons before they come knocking, and I think even then it will be down to, weather we get CL, and how we perform.

Not convinced. Can't see a decision being made while the managerial position at Barca is undecided.

With Alexis and Tello looking like they're off in the summer I wouldn't be so confident.

I personally don't think he's ready for the Barca set up yet. Another loan deal would be more beneficial for him.

The result doesn't surprise me. Southampton are no mugs. They turned us (Spurs) over at WHL for 45 minutes, a few weeks ago.

Hard to beat at home. Nonetheless 2 big decisions didn't go your way in the 2nd half. Doubt Martinez will come out an do a Mourinho.
