Great, great signing. We can build a team around Stones/Barkley/Lukaku for next couple of years.
We need another centre half as Distin isn't getting any younger and won't be able to play twice a week, every week.
Knowing that RM likes playing the youngsters, maybe this is the season that Shane Duffy steps up. He's not been sent out on loan anywhere and this summer, he has played for his country (I think) so he must be improving. For the first time since the 1990's we're on the up. Coleman,Barkley and Martinez extend their contracts and we sign lukaku, besic and Barry. Still time for more new faces, but we are looking better than any time for the last twenty years.
I concur with all the above. Exciting times for us Bluenoses. Should be some Red ste on here soon with negative commentsT66ORA said:
Been told we have rejected a bid for James McCarthy, but he may have had his head turned.
I think it's inevitable that we will get bids on the likes of Stones and McCarthy, given our situation if the money's right I would expect us to sell. It's a shame if it happens because I'd really like to see this group of players get another season together, just hope you're wrong about his head being turned Tony. McCarthy is a strange one.
Bobby has a replacement in Besic.
Did we really have £24m plus add ons for Lukaku?
Speculation is, the money received for the last batch of out going transfers is being held for a ground move.
He is the last player with improved terms on the table.
He is happy here with the Irish lads and Bobby i believe.
His comments about Utd might have been taken out of context.
He is odds on at the bookies to go ( 1/3)
This is Everton, and i would be surprised if we didn`t sell a first 11 player this window. McCarthy, Gibson, Mirallas?
