I went to this one - my three sons are Boro fans. Really it was a very comfortable win - I have never in all my life watched an Everton side play with such control. Funes Mori was OK against a limited Boro attack but not sure he is the best against stronger Premiership forwards and his distribution was not as good as Stones.

I personally didn't think Lukaku had the best of games; his goal was good but his ball control was not the best. Stones looks like he has been playing in that position for 10 years - never flustered with almost faultless distribution. I made Barkley man of the match - everything goes through him.

If we can hang on to Stones Barkley and Delofeu and add to it we really could make some progress over the next couple of years after 12 seasons of being mostly consistent but not quite there. We need another quality centre back, a replacement for an ageing Barry and, I would suggest, an upgrade of the likes of Naismith and Lennon.

I'm sure we will. Its one of them things that make you go "wtf?" when it happens.

Would be worth putting a tenner on at the bookies - just in case.

Whilst knowing Everton we won't get a result tonight, for the first time in 30 years the quality on our bench is such that any of the subs could be a starting player and will bring something to the game if called on.

Dogged defending by CP struggling to break them down, needs a bit of magic from Barkley or Dufflecoat.
