jeesus I need to stop using my phone, it just makes st up

General sensuous on new owner? did he not promise a big 100m spend or something similar (net) ?

Possibility he has lied a bit like G&H or you think he will keep his word?

I think the general consensus is that the new owner isn't sensuous.

I'm not sure if the £100m came from him, or the press if I'm honest. He had to dig deep to get Koeman and Steve Walsh, and from what I've read we had a frustrating end the transfer window in getting deals over the line. I'd be keen to see what happens over the next 6 months though, there's a lot of talk that the new stadium is getting closer since he's been on board which is good to hear.

I've always wondered why clubs leave it so late to buy players though. Surely you'd want to get business done early in terms of new players so they can spend as much time with the squad so they can hit the ground running at the start of the season?

For me I think the big picture here is we've kept hold of some decent players, and sold Stones for GREAT money.

We used to be a selling club, but have now moved into a club that can hang onto good players. I think the squad is good enough to challenge for a cup or maybe 5th place.

We need to win something or qualify for Europe to move upward to attract better players.. This season with these players, if RK can get the best out of them, I don't think there's any reason why not. However I think top 4 this year is far harder than last year.

Did any big clubs really make an effort for Lukaku/Barkley/Baines etc ?

Maybe not but I'm more happy that many of our players are on good contract terms now, they seem to be settled and I think RK can get more out of them this year than RM did last year.

The acquisition of Koeman and Walsh are the key signings this year, acid test for Moshiri will be the stadium, if it gets off the ground I will stick my neck out and say we are really going places. In the meantime I think the window was ok, but prices are stupid and the prem is seen as easy meat, we have a decent enough squad to challenge for top 6, as have our neighbours and I reckon we are on a par with them now, is that progress or have the whoppers sunk to our level?

I think, despite their hope with the new manager, they are no better off than they were with Brenda. I love Kloop. The Premiership needs managers like him. But they are not attracting the top players. I put them below Spurs currently in terms of potential, and fighting for 6th place would be their level. I hope this doesn't cone accross as negative to any reds reading, just how I see it.

Called them for champions 4 years ago at the start of their wonder season. So not bitter.

You love Klopp so much you can't even spell his name right.

Ofcourse not; money, a big name club and CL football do. Has nothing to do with a manager.

Moyes even managed to get Fellaini to ManU.

Both Kloppo and Koeman are above Rodgers I'd say. Just look at their resume.

A net spend of -£1.1m? Disappointing. Especially when they tried to spend £30m late on.

We have a very average squad in my opinion. Lacking a striker and midfielder. Although we dodged a massive bullet in Sissoko.

I agree, but I have some sympathy for those responsible, we can't offer European football and clubs like Napoli and Porto think (know) they can squeeze prem clubs until the pips run dry. I don't agree our squad is average, we have a couple of top players and a couple of very promising youngsters, the defining point this season will be the manager, if we have got the right man in Koeman (and we pushed the boat out to get him) then I reckon we can crack top 6 and if the stadium talk turns into action we will be in a much better place. COYB.

To true Blue it's going to take time. I hope RK is in this for the long term, let him build stability then add to the squad as and when. A top six spot this season would be very agreeable and when players see that we mean business they will come. If we play some good football the fans will get behind him and the club big time. COYB

Just for fun, and assuming the top 11 teams are the same as last year which 5 teams do you think you will displace to get to say 6th?

I am sure you will improve on last years 11th spot but find the top 6 order hard to predict this year (which is a good thing for the league)

Got to be optimistic Adam! I think the top 3 will be Manchester teams and Chelsea, after that I genuinely think it could be open season, but my other 3 would be between Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, West Ham, Leicester and us.

We lost Stones, gained Bolasie and hung on to Lukaku. I wasn't happy about selling Stones but Bolaise was a good buy and I am also glad we didnt get Sissoko who only really plays when he feels like it.

RK will shore up the back so add the 12 points or so we chucked away from winning positions last season, knock off half of those for some new way we will find to cock things up, and I reckon that's where we'll be - 6 points better off. In terms of playing potential and I emphasise potential I dont see this year's team all that much better than last year. Disappointed that Deulofeu, a player I really like, hasn't stepped up yet.

And we still dont have a shoe-in goalkeeper and need another striker (as do most teams....).

The team might not have improved too much, but. Think that he "thinking" side has. RK will get more from the same ingredients.

I found myself feeling a touch sorry for Stones today. The lad looked way out of his depth.

Expecting 3 points tonight, however, I didn't realise how poor our record is against Sunderland.
