From Newcasltes 606 page :

Dear Joe Kinnear / Mike Ashley / Dennis Wise / whoever is actually in charge of bringing in players,

My name is Carl. I have played football a few times in my life, and as such I know the rules, things like what an illegal throw in looks like, for example. I also know some fundamental things - passing the ball means giving the ball to someone on your own team, and that a shot is meant to end up in the opposition's goal.

I'm not technically very gifted. My first touch is somewhat like that of a brick wall. I can't kick it very far or accurately. You may therefore find my job application somewhat odd.

I feel, however, that I would be no worse than the current players, but comparatively I would be a bargain. I am willing to work for you for the low, low price of £5,000 per week and in return, I will just as effective as anyone in the current squad.

Since frugality is the main aim these days, I know that this proposition will fit the current transfer policy perfectly.

I look forward to hearing from you, and to making my debut. Please may I have the number 10 shirt, as I hear it will soon be vacant?

Sky Sports reporting we're apparently close to signing Nolan.

Won't make much difference. As soon as Given puts pen to paper on that Man City contract, thats when Newcastle United FC are consigned to Championship footie.

So what are the bets of Owen playing again before the end of the season? Maybe a swansong appearance just before he leaves on a free?

Has there ever been a more injury prone footballer, barring Darren Anderton?

Charles N'Zogbia said "I will NEVER play for the club again whilst Joe Kinnear is manager..." after Joe Kinnear called him Insomnia yesterday in post match interview.

As an Everton fan I can't really comment on Newcastle stuff but when I heard Kinnears interview I thought it was quite funny and just a bit old fashioned what he said - if it was meant it was very clever and funny and it wasn't racist before this thread gets picked up in too many places that will mis-construe it!!

Good signing. Maybe put some backbone into the midfield in Barton's absence!

Did you hear/see Kinner's interview on Sky Sports News earlier? He said the derby was full of thud and blunder - brilliant!!

"Joe Kinnear's future as Newcastle manager is in doubt after doctors told him he needs an emergency heart bypass operation. (The Sun) "

Shame if he can't see them through to the end of the season.

Get well soon Joe.
