I think Tonali’s transfer fee was in the order of £60M but I’m not sure how the payments are scheduled. The responsibility for the transfer must ultimately fall on Gardening Dan’s neck but AC Milan surely screwed us over, knowing full well of the background issues at the time.
He certainly never really clicked in the midfield when he did play but if Bruno leaves at the end of the season it might open up an opportunity for him (if and when he finally gets back on the pitch).
One thing is for sure, he needs to put in some performances on his return or he’s going to get some pressure from the stands very quickly. I heard he put on £100 at the bookies that he’ll get a game in 2024.
