So I know most fans think it is h whole club structure (owner onwards) that needs to change.
However I do think you have got a manager problem too. Mcclaren is I think a difficult manager for players to really get motivated by.
Newcastle don't look like a team, just a bunch of hired guns taking the money, but not putting the work in.
I do think MccLaren is an issue, he had a very similar problem at Forest, he lost the players almost immediately and they never took to him. Yet won the next 9 games under the next manager.

I know we have this rivalry but its like two bald men fighting over a comb, the thick end of 100,000 paying fans at home games between us and we are the laughing stock of the country, not one trophy beween us in 40 years
I live in the North East now and the gloom is palpable.
Boro are up and down like a we's drawers so at least their fans get a few moments of respite.
But the Mackems and Geordies are facing a lifetime of futility.
I'm not a local so couldn't comment - my Granddad is from Sunderland originally and he used to take me to the games, only ever got to two at Roker Park as a wee lad, plenty at the SOL though, he died in 2004 and his ashes, some of them anyway, were buried at the edge of the pitch.
Haven't made a game this season to my shame, due to being busy with home and work life, but I'm hoping to get a look in for the Sunderland v Liverpool game between Christmas and New Year.

Afternoon all, even you Ray!
The long and short of is we have to many players who frankly couldn't care less.
Bringing in new players is all well, and good, but to my eye there are others who should have been moved on as well.
Sissoko? Too inconsistent. Collo? Well past his prime. Tiote? Always a tackle away from a red card.
The attitude of older players can be poisonous if they clearly don't give a fk, not giving the new lads a chance to gel and create some positivity.
I said at the time the issue was not Pardew, and the issue now is not McLaren. The problem runs far deeper and although Cashley has added funds and sorted the finances I cannot see any forward momentum until new owners are in place.
As far as SMB fans, or ours for that matter, being the only tts in town? Complete bks. Some of us still remember the delightful West Ham fans running through a pub in town Stanley knives to the fore. We've all got them and I'm sad you got caught by some of the NE knuckle draggers, but don't think to blame the vast majority of the NE. In my experience there's more s per million in London than anywhere else in the UK.

Afternoon Mr Ellroy I wasn't going to comment about that poster but when he said he was a West Ham fan The irony was not lost on me. Axionknight said:
Agreed on Newcastle, they just look too shaky and inconsistent, I really don't think they will survive this season.
Mind you I'm a Sunderland fan and my worst nightmare is that we both go down and Middlesbrough get promoted
I wouldn't worry. Fat Sam will have you playing ugly but he gets the best out of teams with more grit than skill (and I don't mean any disrespect by that). The football won't be pretty but he will keep you up. Mind you I'm a Sunderland fan and my worst nightmare is that we both go down and Middlesbrough get promoted
I really can't say the same for us. We have no bite anymore and with a lack of talent too, it's going take other teams being worse than us to keep us up rather than relying on our team. I feared the worse when we got SM and I've seen nothing to rest those fears.
"The wally with a brolly" is what the apprentice where I work calls him - they must have been pissing their pants here in Scotland when he was appointed England manager.
Aye no disrespect taken - "we" are woeful and a turd in need of the mightiest of polishes, no doubt about it, I reckon Sam'll keep 'em up though, as you say.
I like Newcastle and would be happy to see them stay up - here's hoping! Couple of tough games for you chaps coming up though too, December is gonna be a nightmare for the North East clubs!
