Palace aren't getting dragged into it imo, they would have to lose their remaining games and Newcastle would have to win both of theirs, not impossible but still - a big ask and Palace have conceded far fewer goals.
We'd need two wins to catch them too, can't see it. One win, one loss and a draw for us me thinks.
Best of luck lads, one of us is doomed, no surprise really, especially for us, we have been asking for it for years, can't carry on with great escapes for ever.

Looking at the remaining fixtures I can see it coming down to goal difference. I reckon you'll beat Villa but lose to Spurs, thereby finish on 36 points. I have us down as losing to Chelsea, beating Everton and drawing with Watford, thereby also finishing on 36 points.
I think Spurs will have had the stuffing knocked out of them by the final day of the season (perhaps even by 5pm today!) so I reckon Newcastle will get at least a point from that game; Newcastle should also beat Villa so I see them finishing with at least 37 points, maybe 39. That being the case I think it will be Norwich and Sunderland joining Villa in the Championship next season...As an outsider I remember an interview with a certain Mike Ashley, on Sky Sports, and I think on the last day of the season last year, where he was most adamant that the club would never ever find itself in the same position again.
How the fk do you go from that statement to employing Steve McLaren?
I have a feeling you'll go, and I suspect it'll be made worse knowing that a couple of weeks more with Benitez could have meant you didn't.
Gutted for the fans and the staff, but Ashley does deserve it based on his running of the club.

Even with the stuffing knocked out of them I can't help thinking that the current Spurs team are significantly better than your lot.RedWhiteMonkey said:

I have a funny feeling we won't beat villa though.

They're definitely significantly better than my lot as I'm a Leeds fan! However, Newcastle have a decent record against Tottenham and even if Spurs are still in with a chance of the title come the final day (which I doubt) I still think they'll find it tough going against an improved Newcastle side who will be fighting for their Premier League lives. I could perhaps see Spurs getting a point but I'm not convinced they'll come away with all three.... Patrick Bateman said:
Not trying to jinx things here but ignoring the defeat last year, is Spurs' record at St. James' generally not great?
I don't think it is and even with the disappointing season you've had you still turned them over at White Hart Lane back in December; they're certainly a good side but in the highly unlikely event they're still in contention for the title I doubt they'll relish the trip to Tyneside on the last day of the season....Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
