I disagree, I think it could be very similar to last time. We have a strong side for the championship and if you've seen much championship football I think the standard is poor generally. I'm confident that we can get back up at the first opportunity even if we do clear out.
I think we will see the end of:
Krul, Colo, Taylor, Sissoko, Wjinaldum and Cisse.
I hope we can retain Townsend, Shelvey, Mitro and Perez.
Team of Elliot, Mbabu, Dummett, Lascelles, Janmaat, Mbemba, Anita, Colback, Tiote, Shelvey, Townsend, Aarons Mitrovic and Perez. Armstrong has banged them in at Coventry too so having him back should give us goals.
It might mean that we end up keeping hold of Gouffran again though!

Some of the players my still be there but only because you won't be able to shift them due to wage demands whether they are good enough to get you out of a very poor league is debatable.
Is Armstrong that kid who looks like Tyrion Lannister?

Armstrong is the kid who's scored 20 goals at Coventry this season.

Quite right. He'll take you into League 1 no problem. No lingering in the Championship with him in charge.

I fking hate Sunderland and I'm gutted Newcastle went down instead of them. Such a horrible club who never play nice football. Every season I think surely this is their year to get back where they belong, but no.

I'm sure, with decent management, that Newcastle will return at the first time of asking (provided they don't have a completely new squad).

biggrin No need to get your panties in a twist. Hate? Ffs it's only football at the end of the day. Fans take the piss out of each other but I think if you actually hate a club you need help.

Unless that club is Chelsea, then hate is A-OK.

I've said for a while that newcastle are an embarrassment - not the fans, they turn up every week like city fans used to do when they were st in their thousands and you deserve better.

But its the same issues. Poor recruitment - is Mike Bassett the chief scout ffs? Shelvey? Really?

A back office team that struggles year on year to keep the injury list down and keep players fit and hungry.

a strange man management policy - gutierrez? and a clear top down edict that is out of touch with the fans.

An odd selling policy

most of all though is the players and the playing identity - recruitment of countless overseas players who don't identify with the club and what it means to the fans - now as shearer says you're never likely to get another 11 players from the local area but there has to be a change of mindset around who to bring in. Clear a load of them out and start again. I don't know how the fans identify with the players anymore it has lost something

Mainly because I have no idea why they are seen as a 'big club'? In what way are Sunderland anywhere near a big club?

In terms of football I hate them in the same way people say they 'love' their club or some of their club's players. Don't be so pedantic!

They are 17th in the league and you are 18th - Liverpool are 8th, so they are one place nearer to a big club than you hehe

I am not a Newcastle fan. To me a big club is a club who win things or at least challenge to win things, play in Europe (most seasons), manage a top half finish at least every few seasons, have decent players in their prime (can attract decent players), big stadium.

The only box Sunderland tick is a decent sized stadium. They battle relegation nearly every single season and never challenge in any cup, never win anything, never have particularly exciting players, never play in Europe.
