Unfortunately it's a discussion forum so as far as I'm aware you are free to post where you want. I don't think anyone has been particularly abusive or gone out if the way to upset anyone. As to why I come on here as opposed to the Sunderland one the simple fact is I can't stand mackems
Can I ask why you "can't stand mackems ?"

The Sunderland fans having a laugh and deservedly so, to be fair we would have done the same.
Just wish all the North East clubs do well, good for the area.

biggrin No need to get your panties in a twist. Hate? Ffs it's only football at the end of the day. Fans take the piss out of each other but I think if you actually hate a club you need help.
Mainly because I have no idea why they are seen as a 'big club'? In what way are Sunderland anywhere near a big club?

In terms of football I hate them in the same way people say they 'love' their club or some of their club's players. Don't be so pedantic!
You're a fking idiot.Who do you support?

You would do well to hang on to Rafa, if you can and give him autonomy to buy who he wants within a budget (he has a fantastic footballing knowledge) he might stick around with the good opportunity to bring you back up and be a hero. He can hardly be blamed for you going down.

Apparently Everton are after him which might appeal as his family are still in Liverpool but there again not sure he would join Liverpools derby competitor.

2 wins out of 9 played.

Failed to beat Villa , Norwich and Sunderland which crucially would have kept them up.

Hardly the messiah the " Geordie nation " think he is .

The only thing that is really similar between both Sunderland and Newcastle is the amount that support them both home and away whilst being starved of relative success, however saying that Sunderland fans expectations are somewhat more realistic where I think a lot of Newcaste fans have higher expectations whilst still living in the past with Keegan's entertainers at the back of their mind.

It's only a game of football , it's hardly life or death regardless of what Mr.Shankley said all those years ago.

laugh they put the boot in just as much, I have been called all sorts this last few days - cheeky tts.

Apparently Rafa is in talks about "full autonomy" if he stays on. Let me tell you something, if Mike Ashley and his dingleberries fk that up and he walks away and your mob don't boycott the whole shoddy affair then it's a crime and you deserve to do a Leeds United.
As a Leeds fan can I just point out that I wouldn't wish it on anyone - we thought getting rid of Uncle Ken was the answer, only for him to sell to the only people from the Middle East with no money, and then subsequently to the biggest clown in the game (with the possible exception of Oyston at Blackpool)

Imagine a ground where there are no seats with the number 17 (all 16b) and the colour purple is frowned upon due to the chairman's superstitions, not withstanding him being disqualified from running the club a couple of times due to his dishonesty

Think the FA fit and proper person test needs an update!

I have always had an interest in Leeds' results, particularly after the brand of football they played in the late 90s and early 2000s and think that Yorkshire deserves to have a big side in the premiership. Unfortunately the fans that go to the away games are nothing short of a disgrace. There is the exception but a majority of them seem to have a pack mentality which brings the worst out in them. Its a real shame that Leeds are in the situation that they are and the FA does indeed need to look at its fit and proper person test! It's chairmen like this which make me question whether we really want rid of Ashley or whether he just actually needs to sharpen up and realise that Football isn't just about making money because in this case it's had a complete negative effect.

Disgraceful 'tackle' by Mitrovic, utterly shameful.

Never a penalty either but that's football I suppose.

Indeed it was a shameful tackle. Rightly sent off and whatever ban awaits him.

After that I went out into the garden, figuring there'd be a capitulation. Never imagined it'd be Spurs who capitulated.

So long Premier League and thanks for all the fish.

Should think it will be a straight 3 match ban, was a very bad challenge but you could see it coming, he was fired up, thought he was going to take the ref's head off when he gave a foul against him (wrongly) on the edge of the tottenham box.

Ban may be irrelevant if he leaves the club in the summer anyway.

A thoroughly enjoyable way to end the season anyhow, hopefully we'll have more days like today next season.

From the sounds of it Spurs didn't really turn-up this afternoon but surely if you'd shown the sort of effort and commitment that was evident today several few months ago you'd have finished mid-table? I guess at the end of a season you're where you deserve to be but IMO it's a great shame to see a club like Newcastle go down and it must be really frustrating for the supporters.

You're right but there's a bit more to it than that I think.

The performances early in the season were actually pretty good on the whole but, one or two things like bad luck and bad refereeing decisions went against us and confidence was gradually eroded.

The death spiral began early and Charnley (I can only assume out of stupidity and personal pride) simply hung on far too long to a manager who, for whatever reason, was unable to adequately organise and motivate the players.

The difference in the defence since Rafa took over is simply incredible. This season we conceded 65 goals, 53 in 28 games under McClaren, an average of 1.9 per game, in the final six games after Rafa had had a couple of weeks to get the team organised (same players available) we conceded 4 goals, an average of 0.66 per game.

That kind of performance has me puzzled. The players can show collectively what they're about and dismantle a top 3 team despite them having everything to play for as being top dogs of North London, yet through too many non performances we are dropping a division.

Like its been said our performances at the start of the year started well yet we weren't getting results. I haven't looked at stats but January and February games sent us down. Performances then were very poor and we continued to lose.
Whilst being slightly apathetic towards it all, I'm actually looking forward to the summer and hopefully clearing some deadwood and those who don't want to stick around out. I just hope Rafa stays, he convinces the ones worth keeping to stay and we have a good season beating teams week in, week out.

I am also shocked at how easy they have thrown the towel in too and it underlines to me how much Leicester deserved to win it in the end.

Gutted Newcastle have gone down though because I respect the passion and love the fans have for the club and I hope Benitez stays and they bounce back straight away.
