I think we have some options in attack, Mitro, Gayle, Perez and Arma are all different types of striker (De Jong too if fit and stays) and hopefully they should meet the standard in the Championship. Ritchie looks to be a good buy as does Hayden but the defence looks like it needs work. Hanley looks overweight, Lascelles hasn't taken well to the responsibility of the armband and I don't believe Dummett is good enough. Clark is another Steven Taylor. MBemba is the stand out amongst them all he just has to decide who to play with him
EhDaryl Murphy is hardly the glamour centre forward signing I was hoping for.
Seems to have a decent record though and certainly offers something different.
The 2 new fullbacks are rapid so can imagine them overlapping and getting some quality balls into the box.
We played some excellent football against Brighton.
I expected them to put up a lot more fight.
The ref was atrocious and I was surprised we kept 11 on the field.

I live locally and had a ticket on Saturday, so popped along. With the ref being such a dick I thought you were lucky all round. Shelvey could have been booked for kicking the ball away twice in the first 15 minutes if the ref was watching. For the free kick that lead to the first goal Shelvey was maybe fouled, but he kept control, the ref played on then Shelvey lost the ball himself, it shouldn't have been brought back for the foul. Then shelvey dived in two footed and didn't take the ball, so could easily have had another yellow instead. Then he wouldn't have scored the free kick.Seems to have a decent record though and certainly offers something different.

I thought you played OK, deserved to win, but lacked a cutting edge. Your right side of midfield needs to learn to run beyond the last defender when they're giving him half the porch to run into. Only Perez was making those runs, but wasn't offering an angle from the middle.

Unplayable 10% of the time, anonymous 90%.
He's been telling Newcastle fans for the last 2 years how desperate he is to leave and go to a better class of club, a champions league giant befitting of his abilities. Where has he ended up? A middle tier premier league club without European football or a great recent record of success, exactly the same situation as when he joined Newcastle funnily enough.

Hopefully some of the cash will go towards the Samaritans in Liverpool. They'll need it later this season
