This is a friendly match a week before the World Cup, and Sterling could have taken Valencia out of the whole completition with that tackle, so no wonder he was incensed. Stupid to react like that but sterling missed the ball and took the man.
Looked like he got the ball to me, still yellow card these days.

Exactly what I was thinking. Probably would have been best to yellow both or do nothing.
Should have done what they used to do in friendlies and tell the managers to sub them both off.

Wtf! Nothing wrong with Sterlings tackle. Valencia was bang out of order
Eh, are you blind?
Won the ball with a committed tackle , unlucky to roll over the top of the ball, took Valencia with his trailing leg.

It's a contact sport & Stirling won the ball first, ok maybe a bit of a hard tackle for a friendly, but a yellow would have been harsh, Valencia is a massive dick.

Very unlucky for Stirling, who also didn't react at all to Valencia.

Perhaps 2 years ago that would of meant something, but the rules have changed, contact with the ball is irrelevant if your also taking out the opponent in a dangerous manner. I think we'll see a lot of cards for this in the coming 6 weeks or so,

He took the ball. I don't see the problem with that. But then I don't buy into the namby pamby protected footballers who get injured at the drop of a hat.

We need to show toughness, go through players like a hot knife through butter and make the opposition think twice about it in the future during a match

Bad game from jack, shouldn't be playing in the DM position though. Not where he's at his best.

Having rewatched events before the sending off foul, I have no doubt that Sterling was sent off for retaliation. The Ecuadorians were quite cynical.

Worst game I've ever seen Milner play. I cannot see him starting against Italy after today.

Holding microphones by the look of it. He does the job of a metal stand. I might employ him to stand in the house holding a torch, might make a nice lamp.

Is it just me, or is Wilshere terrible on the ball when being challenged? He's been pushed off the ball lots tonight
He's a charver. If he wasn't a footballer he'd be sat in a park drinking cheap cider right now.

Yep that's what I thought! Sterling did fk all wrong all you could see was Valencia's fanny leaking afterwards.
