I'm not overly fussed by last night tbh - did anyone do anything different to cement thier place on the first team sheet...
I don't think so - Luke shaw's performance worried me - does he always leave that much space behind him? positionally not great for me....
wilshere well, he's still in recovery mode for me and Barkley was ok.
gutted for us and Ox if he's crocked - he looked lively and interested.
on to the next one.

right back is clearly a worry - johnson has has a decent enough season but at this level as I have much maligned his positional awareness is shockingly bad at times.
milner at right back isn't great either as we lose some of the balance that we'd have if he played on the left.
maybe the thinking is play milner for defensive cover games 1 and 2 and go all out against costa rica and qualify as runners up ?
1 draw, 1 loss, 1 win...?
I can see us beating Italy, in which case the uruguay game is slightly less pressured.
costa rica is the must win game.

In all seriousness now, Johnson playing almost guarantees Milner a game because he is the ideal candidate to track back and help/bale Johnson out of the clag. Kind of reduces our chances going down the right.
Not necessarily, with Hendo and Gerrard there's ample cover to allow attacking mids in a 4231Look everyone...just start mentally preparing yourselves to see Welbeck, Rooney and Milner for the Italy game.
If they don't start then you'll be happier, but if you are getting excited by the prospect of seeing the youth and talent we have you'll just get pissed off if it doesn't happen.

I think we will beat Italy.
If they play with the lone striker in Balotelli as i've seen them play I think defensively we will be unlucky if we concede against them.
I'd play Sterling, Rooney, Milner and Sturridge infront of Gerrard and Henderson and I think we could do well against them.
A shame Chamberlain is out. 10 days to 3 weeks I have read.
10 days from now puts him definitely missing the Italy game whereas 3 weeks means he completely misses all the group matches with the last 16 starting on the 28th with my prediction being Ivory Coast v England.
