I am a liverpool fan too and the reason i didnt put him in the starting line up is because i think you need a strong subs bench and i would rather see Gerrard coming on to influence or change things than Lampard or Barry.
I would swap Joe Cole for Adam Johnson though in muy original selection.

Hart
Johnson Terry Ferdinand A Cole
Walcott Gerrard Rooney Lennon (or Johnson)
Crouch and Defoe (or lose Defoe and include J Cole in the mid letting Rooney push up more)
I think England need to lose Lampard and barry, Lampard is not someone I think works well in this situation (I know his goal tally this year was good, but arguably it should've been a lot more playing in that Chelsea team), and well barry shouldn't even be in the squad. It's time to let a younger, faster more attacking team build.
Hold Rooney back off two stikers and have gerrard hold the back of the midfield, linking up with the pace around them could prove deadly, especially sticking that lump Crouch up to hassle the defenders. An attacking side would mean the defenders would have to perform, my only doubt is Ferdinand, but he's got to be a better choice than King for now, King is good but needs to get more confidence and awareness of his surroundings.
Milner did not impress last night, he'd get a place if he was consistently involved, but for me he just disappears for large periods of games.
My team would probably lose games, but I reckon they'd be good to watch and score some great goals.

I think Lennon should get the nod before Walcott, especially if you are basing it on pace and final product, he is quicker than Walcott and more precise(just).
I was always under the impression that in a straight sprint Walcott has the beating of Lennon and pretty much anyone else. The problem is the way he uses the ball.THEO WALCOTT is the Premier League’s answer to sprint superstar Usain Bolt.
Manchester United fan Bolt hit a top speed of 24.04mph as he won two golds at the World Championships in Berlin.
Arsenal’s Walcott clocked 22.72mph and Sol Campbell took a shock second place in the top-flight race with a 22.50mph top speed.
The top speeds have been calculated by Castrol using data captured over two seasons.
Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres would be in a photo finish for third with their joint top speed of 22.27mph.
Football’s fliers hit incredible speeds and Walcott’s bursts mean he would run 9.9secs for 100m – if he could sustain his top speed of 10.1m per second.
WALCOTT 22.72 mph
CAMPBELL 22.50 mph
DROGBA 22.27 mph
TORRES 22.27 mph
ANELKA 22.05 mph
FABREGAS 22.05 mph
A COLE 22.05 mph
CLICHY 21.82 mph
ROONEY 21.82 mph
GERRARD 21.60 mph (The Sun)

Looking a Kings performance last night, I'm starting to think it's a shame Sol didn't make the 30.

Well why would we play that team then?I just think the team that gets selected will probably lack the extra dynamic needed to scare teams like Spain and Argentina at the moment, England have to look at something different if they want to succeed. So far I've not seen a convincing team that will be able to pass around a top class opposition.

Who else but Cole can realistically be picked at LB? Bridge is no better at defending and Baines failed to shine last night.Solid defensive players at RB, LB and central midfield are horribly missing but without Hargreaves it's hard to see what else can be done about that. After the World Cup is over and a few people announce their retirements it's probably time to call up Jack Rodwell.
Keeper is going to be a tough choice.
Both Green and James can be excellent, but you always feel their next involvement could very well be an almighty cock-up.
Midfield is where World Cups are won though, and it is a concern that Capello doesn't look any further forward in finding the right solution.
As a result, I think it could be an early exit.
