So, a few injuries the squad, with Hart out there is a lot of talk that Butland will get the nod. Surely John Ruddy is ahead of him in this queue? What do you all think?

Anybody watching tonight? No idea what carrick is doing in the squad. He doesn't deserve to wear an England shirt again.

Big transfer there, Lee Dixon going to ITV. A bit like Wayne Rooney signing for Brighton!

Long been a international fixture week, but with the Olympics they didn't know if Wembley would have been handed back from IOC control to the FA in time.

There will be a game this time next year, but then the international fixtures schedule is being changed.

Great strike but poor keeping though, reacted late, didn't get any spring and then hands way too soft.

Get players in that can pass the ball such as Carrick and Cleverley and look what happens, even with Carroll on the pitch we didn't hoof it very often.

Cleverley was played off the striker which doesn't actually work but he was solid enough. Carrick started slowly but was excellent for the rest of the night, ended up as Captain too, excellent for someone who was frozen out for 2 years.

Actually a decent performance from England. Not amazing but a million times better to watch than at the Euros. Defoe's goal was cracking as well though perhaps the keeper could've done better.
