That's the parent's fault, not Duckface's. My kids love football, and they admire certain players for their footballing abilities. But because I hope I've brung them up proper, they are fully aware that as human beings, many of these arses aren't worth crossing the street to pee on if they were on fire.

Duckface shouldn't play for England, not because he's a moron (which he is), but because he's fkING CRAP.
As I have always said I would rather no United players, played for England,
Why?

A laughable mention of Dawson earlier.
Really? He might have been dead 20 years and have an odd penchant for being a 60 something woman, but he's still quicker than Peckham mong the elder.

No borderline Salford 'characters' for Ingerlund biggrin.

Fair enough, works both ways & might just burst the illusion of your lot doing everything perfectly for 100% honourable reasons, every single time.

As for the Torres thing - feeble. He's appeared at a few RL games so one would have hoped he'd had a touch of enlightenment by now.

Great example for the kids.
Honestly who cares? I hate it when people insist or think that footballers are/should be role models for kids.
I care. I'm not even asking for him to be a positive role model, though surely that wouldn't be asking too much. I'm asking for him not to be such a negative one. Because like it or not, kids follow examples set by self-regarding morons like Ferdinand. What he did in that match was assault, pure and simple. To reward that sort of behaviour with an England cap is a shocking example.
Fair enough. I still think the 'role model' crap should be put to an end.
Hardly assault, not a very sporting thing to do I agree, but it was nothing major at all. The only reason he did it was because he knew if Torres tried to kick or punch him back he would miss and end up knocking someone from the crowd out.
That really is a lame argument.

As things stand, Rio is the acceptable face of John Terry (and no doubt countless others).
Maybe a combination of rugby, division 4 background & other things but TBH, I'd rather that cheating little Maradonna (or even bitey Louis) than a man trying to be neither a quality snide nor a hard man. If you're going to get the bullet, at least get it for a worthwhile reason. Can't say I ever recall big Rio standing all that tall.

A bit of a shame for Ferdinand as he's got a bit of a black cloud hanging over him with England and it would have been nice for him to play.

As for the second part, well if any scouts are at the JJB Soccerdome tonight I'll be trying my hardest...

Ferdinand later said on Twitter he was "gutted" but said it was necessary as part of his "intricate pre-planned programme".
In a statement he added: "It was important for me to be able to speak with Roy face to face and explain the situation, and one thing I made clear was that my passion and commitment to represent my country is as strong as ever."
So when did he start on this "intricate pre-planned programme"? Surely he must have known before the weekend when he was called up that his "fitness regime" wouldn't allow him to play?
Time to bin him off for good. Don't care whether we have an adequate replacement or not.

Under instruction from his manager of course.

Journalist - Carlos you have played with and against Messi and Ronaldo, who is better?
Tevez - Scholes

Not sure that Messi would have been stuck on the left wing to accommodate Hollywood ball Stevie Me and Fat Frank

Probably the same sort of fitness program that made Ryan Giggs suddenly unavailable to play for Wales all those times
