A new low for us tonight.
Mick can't have long left now?
Was horrible wasn't it?Mick can't have long left now?
I've long supported McCarthy, but on that last night, I am questioning myself and my loyalty to a manager who has operated in a difficult market.
Over two games, we should be beating non-league opposition.
Just don't know who to turn to.
The NCP opposite the ground is fine, there's no-body going at the moment
Obviously a little tedious getting out at full time, but not that bad.
There's one on Burrell Road too, not too far to walk.
Personally, if i'm not on the train, I park up in a side road at the top of Christchurch park for free and allow myself 15-20 mins to walk in.
Enjoy!

Paul Hurst has been sacked as manager of Ipswich Town for being st and putting the team on a course towards League One.

I really wanted him to succeed, but ultimately, letting Waghorn, McGoldrick and Garner go left us short of 40 goals or something from the prior season.
McGoldrick was our best player (when fit) and Waghorn was just brilliant last season.
Replacing them with two lads from league was was always a struggle.
Then to let Webster go too....ridiculous, we were short on defenders already!
That being said, I hoped Nsiala and Nolan would step up, but look lost at this level.
Kayden Jackson looks like he could be a player, but clearly not helpful to confidence stepping up to this level and getting dicked every week and not having a decent supplier in midfield.
Lambert taking over. I can forgive his Norwich connection, if we survive this season, it'll be probably more incredible than the great escape Mick pulled off!
Uncertain times!

Well, it's certainly been a while since anybody posted here!
What are everyone's predictions for this season?
I think we'll finish in the top 6 but miss out on promotion in the play offs. The squad should be good enough for a title challenge when everyone is fit but the lack of strength in depth, especially in defence, is what will cost us an automatic promotion spot.
2020/21 we will get promoted as Champions after blooding in the youngsters for another season. Looking forward to next season's Old Farm Derbies already!!

I suspect we'll end up mid table just as we used to in the championship but at a lower level. I have no idea what the direction is for Ipswich and what Marcus Evans strategy is. It just seems like Poundland FC with the one person that was able to keep us in the championship sent on his way.
Where's the ambition?

Interesting to look back isn't it.
Not only did we miss out on top 6, but we certainly didn't go up as champions last season either! Jesus wept, what a inept squad of player we ended up seeing.
We've basically told our entire squad they can leave which is incredible.
However, after 20+ years, i've just got myself a season ticket again. I'm full of hope and optimism and i'm sure that'll disappear within the first few games

Been a fan since 85.
What is the feeling re the new manager/ owner.
We have to get out of division 1
Was weird really, Cook was widely welcomed, some wanted the Cowleys, but i've never been quite settled on them, but then some odd things with how Cook has reportedly treated players with "you can all leave" made things a bit sour, that being said....they had underperformed massively, so I guess he's just less subtle than we're used to.What is the feeling re the new manager/ owner.

Owners seem to be backing us, there's a structure that's been put in place i've never seen before, all of our recruitment before any players came in were a proper experienced CEO, Operations officer, new coaches, new fitness coach and a new head of sport science, plus the obvious arrivals of new coaches when a new manager comes in.
We've already got Evans and Burns who in Burns case, was the best player I saw last season and Evans is a top drawer player, to take them off rivals is a huge step.
Know nothing about the West Brom lad we're look at, but if we get Crooks, we'll have done exceptionally well.
Obviously lots of work to do, but yeah, would like to see us just win home games by more than one goal so my season ticket isn't a waste.
Really looking forward to it.
Fed up seeing the Noriwch thread staying on the front page, so i'm going to update this more often and hope we pick up a few contributors.
So, after a season of...well...Cook being demolition man and then giving the new manager a mountain to climb, the results were nothing other than underwhelming.
However.
United fans seemed scathing of McKenna, but all I've seen of him is positive. Never have we had a manger who actually says what he's thinking and why, there aren't any cheap soundbites or cliches, he's informing the fans and they seem much more in tune and respectful.
We're controlling games and playing very nice football, it's really good to watch and whilst it's a results based game, clearly watching good football is important as attendances continued to grow and season ticket sales are at the highest in 15 years or something and the atmosphere has just transformed.
Ashton has really dragged what essentially was a club in decay, back up, but again, the communications are brilliant and clear and he's stating that things only happen once milestones are hit and why, it's all just refreshing after having a recluse owner for so long.
Anyway, I fancy us to be in the mix for a top two spot this year, we're just so much better organised with McKenna compared to Cook and if Ladapo can score a few goals, we should be a real threat and not so toothless, we've lacked a bit of physical presense and I think that's the key this season.
Got my season ticket and looking forward to going again!

Congratulations chaps, welcome back, what took you so long . Not looking forward to the ‘Old Farm Derbys’ next year, you might just give us a game for the first time in 14 years Seriously, Mckenna’s got you really firing (….we’re on a downward trajectory unfortunately), will you be able to keep him when a Southampton / Leicester / Leeds inevitability come knocking?

I doubt those clubs would appeal to him but suspect he could become a flight risk. Resource and back to back promotions are key, if either don't happen we're in bother. Was the best day ever!
Woolfy and Clarke starting 'those' unsavoury Norwich songs...I'm not a fan of such songs, but you cannot deny the passion there and it seemed just about right in the moment to join in lol!
The blue smoke as the coach came in was something else, I was about 15m from it and couldn't actually see it.
My son is 17 and unlike me, never really had the 'ups' of play-off seasons, Premier football and a Norwich derby (he's been but can't remember due to age....that's telling in itself)
Bristol away I was down, I thought we'd blown it, Sheff Wed were what? 5 or 6 points clear with 2 games in hand, it seemed insurmountable didn't it?
Then.
Wow...that run.
The most incredible thing i've seen from this group is there's not a single player that gets the usual "he's not good enough" or "we should replace x in the summer" and i've seen enough championship football to know with confidence this team will compete well.
For anyone who's not seen Town In 25, even non-town fans, it's a cracking watch.
I'm elated, emotional and cannot wait for August!
