Does anyone know anything about our new striker Alessandro Diamanti?

Another defender in from Fiorintino & Savio gone - no loss there, never saw anything from him to suggest a future IMO. Assume Collins on way given we now further cover at the back.
Anyone go on Saturday - yawn, decent chance from Coley which he put wide, nothing else of note though.

Pity we didn't get hold of a striker in the window though, god knows what state we'll be in if Coley gets injured.

Cole is good but we need a natural finisher. Zola has worked wonders with him but he needs to go on a run soon otherwise he will have another poor season goal scoring wise.

So today's reports are saying the club lost 50 - 100 Million last year
We haven't got the prolific striker we need and the likes of Viduka are going to play like Tristan or DDM.
So Cole and Diamanti (Diamanti hasn't played in a top league yet either) Hinze and Nouble up front.....
Worries me to think that we need to aim above mid table and that's our strike force. 2 of the 3 goals this season for west ham have been wonder goals, not goals from set pieces or good play, they have been from a good strike, goals which come once a season...
West Ham have big problems.. Selling a solid Defender for no one coming in is a bad move.. only 1 striker since the window opened in Jan. Having to get the sponsor to pay for the 1 striker we bought as we have no capital to pay for him... Just hope Zola can get Cole firing on all cylinders!
I hope we get bought, not buy someone with endless pockets, but by someone who loves football. some one who will put 10-20 mill in the kitty every year.
If we had just bought Gudjohnson or Chamakh id have been happy.

What happens is Cole get injured, or Upson. These are the 2 players the whole team is being built/trainned upon......

I have been watching WH since 1966 (I'm a very old person). A small squad has always been a problem. Our best year was back in the 1980's when we had McAvenie etc., and we had a full season with hardly any injuries.

The links to Viduka worry me - lazy, fat Aussie's not an answer to our problems up front.
We've been making chances but seem unable to score - as mentioned above PL goals have been fortunate so far (fair play to Coley for his effort against the spuds though), we need more (some) from midfield and support for Cole who's been getting in decent positions with no support - first half against Blackburn.

Never realised there was a West Ham thread...Good to see one though. Sadly I hardly get to west ham games as I live in Aberdeen so therefore go to aberdeen matches, But still a WHU fan.

Is anyone else starting to get worried? We scraped past Milwall, got outplayed by Wigan and now we haven't been able to beat Bolton! I haven't seen any highlights but 3-1 doesn't look good from any angle.
If the results keep going this way I can see Green and Upson looking to move in January to boost their England chances. Cole is a good player but we need a proven Premiership striker alongside him. I was praying we would get Gudjohnsen but instead we have ended up with Dimanti who, like Di Michele, doesn't seem to be adapting well to the Premier League.
Sort it out please Zola.

Painful yesterday, worst atmosphere in the ground for a long time & only 32,500 there for a Prem game.
Very poor performance, almost unable to keep any meaningful possession in second half & no body prepared to take a shot or make a chance - Green, Upson, Parker, Diamanti (free kick accepted), Jimenez (what's the point of that guy?) & Noble all hopeless, especially Upson for the pen.
Hines looked ok for first half & Behrami full of energy when he came on (although still gave ball away)
Once again Cole left to carry the team, god help us when he gets injured.
What the hell happened at half-time - went in after a decent 10 min spell before the whistle, looked like they were asleep in the second half & fulham down to 10-men FFS.
Difficult to see when & where 3 points are going to come from now.
