On a different subject has anyone received the email from the Daves? Apparently it's 5 years today they bought the club and they've sent an mail explaining their 10 point plan for the next 5 years.

Don't think I had one... read about it somewhere though. maybe something will come in. I'll post it up if it comes in.

There was one from Alex song earlier. He must've read my comments on here after the game smile

Interesting... also distracting me from watching Tour of Duty, Season 1!

The debt issue was always going to be helped by the PL rights, think they published accounts when the profit was mentioned - new stadium will presumably help here as well as more revenue enables us to spend more on players / wages, but would be interesting to see what costs are as they stand & if they'd accounted for the stadium sale in 2014 (although i'm not sure / can't remember if galliard have optioned it or bought unconditional) .

All pretty positive stuff though, pity they couldn't tie it in with announcing that Reid has signed (suspect he's off regardless) and that we've managed to buy Jenkinson.

Quiet on Big Sam's future as well.

I don't really think that it would have been an appropriate forum for them to comment publicly on private club business. It was a good read, they may have slightly questionable morals in some of their business dealings, but they certainly appear to be fully committed to make West Ham the best club it can possibly be. Did I just get sucked in by propaganda?!

I agree and I don't think you did. I get the feeling that they genuinely have an empathy for the club. Don't forget Gold played for them as a youth and grew up opposite the ground.

Seems a bit steep, if the bar was open before and after the game as well as half time then I could probably make my money back. Think I'll be going to the new East Stand Lower area to be honest, I'll let my mates take care if it.

So we have made an offer for Darren Fletcher, what are people's thoughts?

A doubtfully fit, over the hill, sweaty sock, water carrier type midfielder doesn't do much for me. Apart from the Jock connection that sounds like Nolan.

Don't know much about him. Captain of Scotland and a centre midfield? It does seem an odd position to get a player for. I'd have thought a centre back for when Reid goes...

Back on topic, is the OS going to have an East Stand? That's good!

This. Can't see that he offers anything and our buying policy has been for younger players with a future. He'd be a waste of time as a buy or a loan.

I don't think so, I just have a ST for the East Stand and I'll be taking up a seat at the OS alongside the people I stand with at the moment smile

So do I but it was cheaper to stand in the North or South banks so I used those.

Oh yes indeed. I was a "on the North Bank, behind the goal, halfway back, slightly to the left" chap!

My friend & I used to get to the South Bank early so we could be right at the front. We were just kids so that way we avoided anybody taller standing in front.

Yep when I was a kid did the same at the North Bank, mind you these days you'd not see much because of the way they mound the pitch up a couple of feet above the floor of the stands.

Strong side for the Cup game - Song, Carroll & Valencia all start, hopefully won't try the same formation from first half against Hull though.
