Anyone go tonight - I didn't.
Sounds like we might be done anyway - good, fking joke competition. 3 red cards and manager to the stands. Great start to a season.
Chuck next leg in and fk it off for the waste of time it was always going to be.
Why is it a joke competition? The team that wins the tournament automatically qualifies for the Champions League. West Ham are simply out of their depth, even in the early qualifying rounds. Three red cards in 3 games is appalling and should automatically mean disqualification for a team that qualified on the flaky fair play rule.Sounds like we might be done anyway - good, fking joke competition. 3 red cards and manager to the stands. I didn't go to the game either, don't think I'll be making it to many this season. I couldn't even find a stream last night, but I did get a text from the BBC app to tell me it was 2-2
Hope to see Payet though as I've not seen him play yet.

Bloody annoying about Valencia but had the usual inevitability post match.
Anyone else go today - sat in East Stand lower for a change, proper hot; had to move to BM lower as it was cooking in second half. Stadium looked good - thought a pic worthwhile.
Game started well, Sakho scored but we conceded two soft goals after to lose.
Payet looked good - first time I've seen him; Oxford played as DM and was encouraging. Kouyate also looked good.

Thought Tomkins looked good at right back second half too. Agree on Oxford he looks really comfy on the ball, hope he can make the step up!Anyone else go today - sat in East Stand lower for a change, proper hot; had to move to BM lower as it was cooking in second half. I want us to sign Austin, so I've got everything crossed Spurs don't hijack the deal at the last minute.
Not convinced that we will (sign him) though - Jack Sullivan was suggesting earlier on Twitter that we're in for someone & waiting for a work permit - presumably that's a striker as Song won't need one. I think that if the Club was serious about Austin a deal would've been done at the start of the window, notwithstanding the fees etc, rather than waiting until deadline day - we're not spuds. Presumably he (CA) doesn't want to go to Newcastle though as that's been mooted for ages.
If we do sign him & if AC actually gets fit & stays fit & if Valencia's injury isn't as bad as first thought (12 wks seems to be suggested now) we'd have decent attacking choices. As it is it'll be Sakho to start & Maiga on the bench!
I read that QPR know that he is going but they wouldn't mind hanging on to him until just before the window shuts, so maybe we are trying to get him on the cheap... But he's proven quality, if it's a few mill extra, we should just pay it and get him, we really need to have a good season.

Agree.Problem w/ hanging on creates situation that neither club's nor players want to be in - remember watching Scott Parker try to avoid the ball in the first game of the champ season couple of years ago as spuds were doing their usual 11th hour bks.
If we want him offer an acceptable price & get it done - we flogged Downing unnecessarily to raise cash - use it FFS.

I also agree, it seems odd that owners will chuck a few million here or there on unheard of players from the African continent and yet here's a known commodity so why not get the deal done and let him settle into the squad. I would like to see it happen. he could stay in London and as far as i know there's no bad blood between the Hammers and QPR that would get in the way of negotiations. We could offer Jarvis as part payment & Maiga could carry his bags to White City for him
