Looks like Song could be coming on a permanent deal, rather than another loan, subject to a successful medical.

I'd be very happy with that yes

Indeed, a great signing. As a player on contract he should have that extra commitment and alongside Payet a decent midfield pairing.

The only thing that worries me is that he is injured at the moment, so any medical would have to take that into account - and our track record of signing injury-prone players isn't exactly great. Kieron Dyer for example. And Andy Carroll for that matter.

If we sign him, it will be a calculated gamble - hope it goes our way for once.

On his wages, I'd imagine the calculations will have covered nearly every variable imaginable which will also be reflected in his contract; you'd hope he's on the big bucks if he's playing/available to play and contributing to the squad.

Perfectly sensible for Sullivan to comment on not wanting to buy another striker w/ potential issues. Potentially reduces the price further as well wink

That being said he bagged 18 last season so maybe worth more of a risk than AC ever was.

Sure Austin would have been "misquoted" if a deal were to be agreed anyway.

We should be pulling ALL the stops out to sign Austin. Unless we sign some amazing unknown talent that we've been scouting, in which case Austin can jog on.

I would like to think that some progress is being made to sign another striker. You just don't what is happening behind the scenes.

Looking forward to tomorrow's match. COYI.

After Sulli's remarks and Austin's response there's no way he's coming to UP. Unless it's all a wind-up in advance of one of the Sunday Sport's headlines, "Footballer's knee ligaments found on Moon."

Well I think we'll struggle. Find hard to predict a loss but it wouldn't surprise me.

Shambles. Utter fking Shambles.

Relegation form combined with appalling discipline.

Truly pathetic.

For me we lost for 2 reasons.

1. Was Jenkinson

2. Was Cresswell

Both had nightmare performances. Yes it was that bad.
