Up to Christmas we did OK. It was Boxing Day onwards that it tailed off - lost 2-0 away at Chelsea followed by a home defeat to Arsenal; only managed three more wins (all at home): Hull, Burnley & Sunderland) in the league after that.
Chelsea was the game where he decided to play a weaker team in the hope of beating Arsenal at home... Completely took away the momentum and confidence we'd built up.

I recollect we started to slide away around this time last year and the disappointment with Allardyce got worse. Almost as if the great start (and we were like a different team from 2013 with Downing playing some great football) made the 2nd half of the season even worse. Expectations increased and the way we fizzled out to finish 12th was the end for BFS. I am expecting much more fight from a Bilic side! and still predict a top half finish being in a position to finish 8th or there abouts going into the last few games.
Agree Rich 8th/9th ish is where I see us, comfortable with that .

I'm always worried until we get to 40 points.

A bit of trivia. Anybody else notice that both goalkeepers had the squad number 13?

Ironically the Arsenal game was 2-1 - probably one of our better results against them in recent years biggrin

Had someone left their kit at at home? Ignore that... soon as I posted I realised you meant the opposing keepers

Looks like 2 months for Sakho, to add to Valencia and Payet... But of course all we will hear about is the Arsenal injuries.

Bloody shame; add in the getting back to fitness etc & it's a massive loss; plus takes us back to relying on AC as the starting striker w/ the ineffective back-up that's Jelavic.

According to the presser, Valencia is having a good recovery and should be available in a couple of weeks.

Good news - I thought he was crocked for the long haul - when he went down against Everton it looked proper painful.

Yeah, a shame. But Noble, Kouyate and Song start together. Then Moses, Zarate and Carrol up front. I'm not jinxing anything, but I have a good feeling about today.

Great save from De Gea earlier and then off the post twice in 2 minutes! Looks like we are letting them come onto us and hitting them on the break, but we look a bit light in midfield as they've run through us several times as if we aren't there.

Not having luck with injuries this season.

Sounds like we've been doing OK though - not watching it.
