Had my appointment at the Reservation Centre on Friday - they've sold about 38,000 season tickets so far and people are still signing up to the waiting list even now yikes

Bands 1, 2 & 3 all sold out, so had to go for Band 4 in the Bobby Moore Upper - not really what I would have chosen given a choice but at least I'm on the ladder, so to speak and will be there for the start of next season party

Watched some of last night's match. I still can't believe that we had Mascherano and hardly gave him a game. If my memory serves me he came on a sub in an away match at Spurs and that was it. We played Mullins instead.

Mullins was playing very well that season though - all seems a long time ago now.

Wonder what would have happened if Tevez and Masch had gone straight into the team though, Tevez spent much of his time on the bench or eventually coming on as a late sub.

Both world class players but apparently not good enough for us at the time. confused

As you say a long time ago.

Weren't Pardew's signings though, plus he was on the back of a very decent 2005/06 season. He was sacked shortly afterwards; I always found it odd that Curbishley didn't then play the two as it would've been an easy "win" (Masch might've been loaned to the scousers by then though).

Whole thing was a bit of a clusterfk after the initial excitement though.

The reason they didn't play was they was hopelessly unfit. They were dumped on Pards, and Curbs didn't chuck them straight in either.
We tend to look at it a bit with rose tinted glasses.Even Tevez went God knows how many games before he got his first ( think that was the 3-4 defeat at home to Spurs).

And we were safe before the game kicked off by memory( unless there was a complete freak result), so again a bit of a myth .

I hope SA is not abused too much (or at all) tomorrow. I know he is unpopular but IMO he did a job for us and left us in a much better position than when he started.

Likewise... Unfortunately I think it's inevitable from some.

I hope he gets a good reception before the game - he did a decent enough job for us. Always a big believer if you give a ex manager/player some sh** they normally turn it on!

I think tomorrow will be a hard game.

Polite applause followed by dignified silence - won't happen though. laugh

I'm a Sunderland fan and our form has looked much better of late - hoping this will be a good game.

Also hoping WE DESTROY YOU ALL, but I'm managing my expectations, it is still Sunderland I follow after all laugh
