Entertaining game for the neutral.

What must have been bloody frustrating for you Hammers fans at the end was having scored a tidy goal from a corner with the big man in the box, you then get another corner from Payet's free kick but instead of trying to repeat the same trick he sets up Noble for a shanked volley from 35 yards!

The whole game was frustrating, I didn't think we were firing properly last night. Valencia didn't have his shooting boots on and although we had Carroll up front there was a lack of crosses and those they did go in were frequently mis-hit.
Didn't deserve to win although have I mentioned I thought Felani punched the ball into the net? hehe

Excellent, I know the whole of PH is behind your statement.

Antonio made me nervous a few times last night, he nearly got caught out once either side of giving the ball away for their first. Saying that, he still had a lot to do to finish it.
He was well exposed as a stand in RB IMO, first time really - Man U did there homework; that being said the ball that he laid off that led directly to their first goal was a shocker.

Occasionally they try that; 90+2 mins was no place to do so last night.

Like millions of other football fans I wish Leicester the best of luck winning the title BUT not when they are playing us.

In case you hadn't noticed, this is the West Ham thread.

We needed an early goal, and could have got it from Valencia. He had a shocker and it wasn't a coincidence when he came off we looked much more dangerous with Moses.
The longer it went at 0-0 the more we were exposed with a lack of bodies in midfield and defence. They just ran through wide open spaces far too often.
At 1 nil it was pretty obvious whoever scored next would win it, had we got it I think we'd have pushed on and won by 2 or 3, unfortunately it didn't happen.

Possibly Slav got the selection wrong, easy to say in hindsight, but AC and Valencia doesn't strike me as a partnership who gel particularly well and IMO Payet hung out on the left touchline isn't where he should be. So often, he seems to get the ball wide left 30 - 40 yards out and then, as he's right footed, cut inside and gets crowded out. I'd have him in the hole behind the strikers with Lanzini and Kouyate each side of him, allowing space for Antonio and Cresswell to bomb up the wings to cross for AC.

Disappointing but Man U actually looked pretty decent for a change and probly deserved it.

Next up Leicester, I reckon we'll get something there.

COYI.

Was utterly gobsmacked by that, some of the decision making and final ball in the last couple of games has been truly shocking.

Some interesting figures about the stadium deal.

How long until the public enquiry starts up do you think?

Agree Rich with Valencia - wrong choices at times and not just from him. De Gea is very good and shots from 30 yards (chiek and Eninike) and acute angles with left feet (Valencia) are pretty much not going to go in. His save from Antonio's flick was quality though.

I'm not one to moan about WHU players but Payet to Noble last kick of the game was a bad one! That's 1 in 30, needed to be in the box!

Great deal for us - about £105K a game in rent!

As for an enquiry what else are they meant to do with it? Understand the money to convert is not right and WHU should be made to pay more but hey ho that's business!

It's simply grist to mill for WAMS other than that there's nothing more to be said. I'm sure they can get over it.

Fantastic deal for West Ham. Technically its rent free when you look at the costs involved, but the LLDC must be making some money from the games, and also using the stadium for other activities outside of football season.

I thought the £2.5 million rent was common knowledge from way back. There's nothing particularly controversial in the rest of it, other than the 272 million pounds worth of conversion costs which is beyond belief. Just shows the complete lack of foresight and competence of those in the suits and ties when it was first muted.

I don't blame West Ham at all, but 272 million to convert, 2.5 million a year on a 99 year lease and utilities and other things included. It's an amazing deal for the Hammers but a shocking one for other taxpayers.
West Ham also get 50% of the naming rights after 4million... Perhaps whoever negotiated this on your behalf could negotiate with big firms and their tax payments? wink

Anyway enough of the chatter about the stadium. Today's job is to get back to winning ways and challenge that 5th spot. (And help the Spurs fans - even if some do moan about the stadium wink )

Free kick & a header, Schmiechel pushed it onto one post, it then rolled onto the other and and out! That at 1:30secs. NOt a bad start but Leicester getting into it now.
