All you travelling fans are going to get the price of the ticket back, that should cost them a couple of hundred pound.

It's understandable. A defeat like that is inexcusable at any level. To be beaten that badly in the Premier League is a disgrace.

First time i've been on here since the embarrassment. Edamn had'nt played for a year, but his performance was absolute dire. I'm embarrassed to be a Wigan fan right now, Martinez needs to sort the defence out, and stop concentrating on the attack!

I expect a trashing from Sunderland too. As for Bobby, I'd give him till christmas. Joke of a football club frown

Could be worse, we could be Bolton fans.

I think they will be ok. There are still three teams worse than Wigan in the league despite the 9-1 humiliation. I think a win against Sunderland, who are without Darren Bent, and the 9-1 will be forgotten. There is a lot riding on this match, with Brucie returning as well.

Bent's suspected injury isn't as bad as first thought and he may be playing http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,16368,180... Besides, this season Sunderland have shown some good form throughout the team so it might take more than the loss of a couple of players.

Not necessarily.

There are at least 6 other teams who are at least as good/bad/indifferent as Wigan. At least one of the promoted sides will go down and from what I've seen of Portsmouth, Hull and Bolton, they aren't exactly sparkling either.
The key to staying up is to get a striker that can actually get a few. Do that & unless the defence is truly terrible, you should survive. In Wigan's case, there is usually some money knocking around if reinforcements are needed, more than can be said for the 3 teams above, plus possibly one or two others.
The key for Martinez now is to make sure the players understand that the 9-1 was just one of those days but at the same time make sure that they concentrate on the basics of defensive organisation.

"It was one of those games when nothing went our way, and we have to learn from it – starting at Stoke," Martinez added.

Great game. Ok, I'm disappointed that we couldn't win the game when it was on a plate, but we shouldn't have had the penalty in the first place. Disgraceful linesman.

And surely goal of the season!

That was a brilliant goal, thought at first the ball was still moving. Goalkeeper will be kicking himself though.

Great game, should have won though, wish we still had the Duke for penalties. Cant understand Martinez's gripe with Sorenson for coming off his line when we shouldnt of had a penalty in the first place. I hope im not the only one who thought Mario was shocking yesterday. Was 3 yards off the pace all game.

Well I think we was unlucky last night, could and should of been 1-1 when Scotland hit the bar, got to take as many points as possible over the next few games over Xmas to get us back up the table and away from relagation though as we dont want to be dragged into the scrap down near the relagation lot.
