champions league you will do exactly the same as your last premier league season,straight back down if and thats a big IF you get past derby mate ;-)wigan played 62 matches and with rosler stopping and a need to gain 1 or 2 forwards in summer i cant wait for the next season to begin :-)

Our final couple of hours before we are no longer the holders of the FA Cup . Part of me wants Arsenal to win, so Hull don't steal our thunder, but seeing Arsenal fans acting like they've already won is very annoying. City fans weren't even this arrogant last year.

64% of the play and yet two down after fourteen minutes against Birmingham. I never thought a manager could even less of a clue about defence than Martinez but Malky Mackay is proving me wrong. Either it's time he left or it's time Whelan diverted some of his takeaway money into buying some more players. Surely they need to put right at least some of the wholesale exodus that has shamefully been allowed to happen at Latics.

I'm not a betting man but I would confidently put money on us not winning another game this season. The situation really is that bad. The players are a massive problem (McClean aside), the manager doesn't give a damn, and Whelan's probably in Barbados unaware of the diabolical state we are in as a club.

How much longer before we get rid of this destructive manager and get someone with half an idea? We can't sell any more players, all the decent ones have gone. My Wembley day seems an awfully long time ago.

Whelan is still the owner so he'll still probably have some input, and his grandson will need guidance. I would have said that Sharpe will just be attending meetings and signing some papers but it looks like 3 of our directors are 'stepping down' (i.e jumping off the sinking ship and don't want to be told what to do by a 23 year old) at the end of the season. Fantastic win last night against a flying Norwich. That 3 away games in a row we've won, but we still haven't won at home since August. Some tough teams visiting us soon too. We're leaving it late, but don't we always?

I wouldn't lose too much hope. My team Norwich dropped into the First Division. We got rid of all the dead wood and came back a better side. Got back into the Premier League after two seasons (although we are now out of it again) so it can be done. You just need the right man at the helm.

Looks like we finally have that man now, some of the recent performances have been very heartening with some smashing play and goals that would grace any venue.

Good win today for the lads, but nine players booked?? Including one for 'excessive celebration'? The lad came on as a sub and scored the decisive goal 7 minutes from the end! Give him a break! I guess the ref had a rubbish Xmas.

Daring to dream of automatic promotion now. Some great buys this season and a good manager who seems to know how to integrate them into the team.
