McNair and Love signed, four year deals, 5.5 million for the pair, seems like reasonable business, the squad is paper thin and needs padding out, I doubt Moyes would buy out of desperation and he knows the pair of them so I'd imagine he has plenty of confidence in them.
WTF is going on with Kone though? Get it sorted!

So our best CB asks to leave, and we bring in two nobodies from Manure. On top of paying £8M for a Chelsea reserve who cost them £2.7M and subsequently played for them once.
I can't stand Moyes, and don't rate him at all - he has no dynamism, gravitas or charisma.
I really do fear for our club this season.

Well hello there.
An uninspiring start, I think all assembled will agree. Reasonable performances - we shouldn't have lost to Boro and City should have been a draw, Saints was a clanger too, Moyes diddled that with a substitution that then allowed them to pile too much pressure onto the less than stellar back line, alas, we are where we are - I've seen worse starts to the season, at least the performances are reasonably encouraging this time.
Transfer window a mixed bunch IMO.
McNair and Love are two for the future who still need polishing, cup and younger league games should see to them, one way or another, either way I think they are reasonable additions to a paper thin squad.
Papy too, from Chelsea, seems like a good foil for Kone, he looked a bit slow off of the mark but I reckon the lack of game time is to blame for that, a good replacement for Kaboul IMO, sad to see him leave, him and Kone were an imperious back two come seasons end, but needs must.
Pienaar has looked good on the ball so far, bit older of course but his PL experience is without question, his control of the ball and level head in mid field has looked great so far, would I rely on him all season? No. But what I have seen to far has impressed me indeed, a good squad player with plenty of experience to pass on to the younger mob.
Manquillo, a better RB than Yedlin, after only one game, fact. A good loan this, I just hope the powers that be give him his 25 games and get him in the door.
Deyenar - no idea here, apart from ninety two billion angry Galatasary fans invading the SAFC facebook page to vent their spleen
Janazuj: A loan again, but could be superb, if he is we will never clinch him, but enjoy it whilst it lasts IMO, he's a superb player, if a bit ball greedy, and with the right coaching he could be a dangerous player for us, one to watch.
Ndong: Feck knows! Love the hair,
M'vila: Yann was superb for us apart from a few quiet games towards the end of last season, I was desperate to see him in this window, but Rubin Kazan wanting 8.5 million quid to buy out a four month loan is shameful - fking criminal really, since the won't even be playig him. I just hope he wants to come to us in January on a free, his skill will no doubt raise the interest of more successful teams than our mob. Alas, I am not hopeful.
Injuries: fking kill me now
Still got the Civic Type R I bought when they stayed up BTW, love it
Palace are my first game of the season, then Arsenal, tickets bought for both. Looking at Burnley for NYE too if the away support is a bit thin on the ground - tickets will be too hard to come by elsewise. My Dad lives in Huddersfield so it's just a wee drive down the motorway to get to the stadium.

They say never meet your heroes. Well I can confirm that that is bks. At a wedding yesterday with the legend that is Charlie Hurley - what a funny, humble, lovely man. He clearly loves the club, and he couldn't say enough about the fans.
A fabulous day/night made even better by the presence of a great man!

It looks like AK killed himself t'other week http://www.thesportbible.com/football/news-sunderl...
That's a lot of money for much sadness, lol, I bet Short is crying into his macchiato or whatever. Guy was garbage for them and has been mostly garbage for everybody else tbh, standard Sunderland - pay good money for bad, will that change? It seemed to under Sam, Kone, Khazri and Kirkhoff were superb purchases for the club and not a one of them broke the bank - Kirkhoff in particular if he can stay fit, less than a million quid, unbelievable value, Moyes did OK given the circumstances but no more than OK, so one good window and one passable one won't wash out the bad but it's surely better than what went before.....
Plus they signed Defoe when teams like rivals Newcastle passed him up as he wasn't within Ashleys criteria of young and "sellable", his goal scoring prowess kept them up last season and despite his age he proved himself with goals against just about everybody in a team that was, being generous, passable at best
Had Newcastle or Norwich got their hands on a proven front line goal scorer like Defoe then they would likely have trumped the Black Cats come May and stayed up, he will almost certainly prove the difference again whilst last seasons rivals languish below, me thinks.

It's embarrassing Mr Ellroy, or maybe not its just typical of our club.http://www.thesportbible.com/football/news-sunderl...
I'm sure you will remember the Milton Nunez incident a few years ago, I can't decide which one was worse.
If the Telegraph publishes more names I fully expect at least another 2 ex SAFC managers to be named, at least they better be as some of our transfers were either dodgy in the extreme or done when the protagonists were off their tits
Fn2typer do you support Sunderland? I thought you said on another thread you did but you keep saying 'they' you're not a barcode on a wind up are you??

I keep any eye on them certainly, but I'm not a fan per se, just an interested third party.I'm sure you will remember the Milton Nunez incident a few years ago, I can't decide which one was worse.

Newcastle? Don't make me laugh, I'd rather support Leeds United.
