Different story if Di Canio had still been on the scene?
I'd think so, he lost the dressing room, players hated him etc. Considering what a mess the team was in when Gus turned up, he really has done a marvellous job. I'd like to thank Newcastle for the 6 points they gifted us this season too

Only in the last 5 games to be fair. some of the performances under him have been woeful and his team selections have been bewildering at times, but it is a miracle.I'd like to thank Newcastle for the 6 points they gifted us this season too
As any Sunderland fan knows we always snatch defeat from the jaws of victory but for once in my lifetime it's worked the other way.
To that dirty stinking mag who always comes on here and has a dig watch out next season because you'll be in the relegation dogfight
Well done (from the enemy), not even my most hardened Sunderland mates had any faith in surviving a few weeks back. On recent form, you not only deserve to stay up but probably look the best of all the mid table teams. Not sure what next year will bring as there's a few players out but at least you have a manager who can inspire and get the most out of the squad.
