Agreed - it seems Coyle wanted to add speed upfront - I doubt Ngogg will be a finisher in the league of Sturridge but he may well be a better bet as a starter/Foil for Davies than Klasnic - Kakuta could be a great signing - all in all I think we have had a good window - some issues over the disruption we will face in January if there is renewed effort to prise Cahill away but he might feel his best bet is now to stay and collect a massive sign on fee in the Summer - when Holden returns Coyle has quite a few options in midfield and up front
would this be the Klasnic that has scored 3 from 3 this season?

Well another great game on saturday...........

Seriously we need to start thinking of a new partnership at the back, Cahill isn't being as effective as he should which given all the speculation i don't blame him but Knight is just a complete and utter waste of space.

i think this may be a season where we JUST scrape it. and i mean JUST.

I honestly thought we had done a good job in the transfer window bu at the minute i can't take any positives.

Cheer up chaps, I don't think Coyle has let us down yet. It is still early days and the season is still very easily salvaged with a couple of wins. I worry about our leaky defence but we have options there. Give Wheater a few games with Cahill and see what happens. I think that Zat has been the biggest culprit so far with Muamba having a few awful games as well.

I think confidence was pretty low against Norwich after a few humpings against teams that will almost certainly finish in the top 4. It'll be interesting to see what the bounce back is like. Wondering how Coyle will approach the cup game against Villa now. Think we might see a few more players from the 1st team out there to encourage a bit of form.

We need Holden back as we have lacked that bit of fight in the middle of the park. Would pair him up with Mark Davies that worked pretty well last year.

The BEN said it was just a one match ban for wheater plus Cahill should be over his mysterious "hour and 45 munute bug" that kept him out against his future employers.

N'Gog started well and pratley had a good effort denied so i don't think it is too worrying yet.

Like someone else has said, there is now two tiers in the premiership and our of the 2 games we should of been looking at picking up points against we only lost one of them.

Team for Chelsea;

Bogdan
Steinsson
Cahill
Knight (but only because whather is banned)
Gardner
Eagles
Holden
Pratley
Reo Coker
Petrov
N'Gog

I don't usually go into our home games against Chelsea with much optimism, they have a nasty habbit of doing well at the Reebok.

What happened with Cahill at the weekend then? I was out all of Saturday and must have missed that bit of info. See he is being linked with a move to Barcelona now.

Go with the above but don't like Gardner at left back he is not good enough anymore but Robinson was never good enough anyway. Would stick Muamba in for Reo Coker and M Davies in for Pratley. Apart from that I agree with the above for a teamsheet.

I think we need to get the Chelsea game out of the way, I can see us losing by a two goal margin. Then we start the season and start picking up points against teams we have a chance against. The failure to get a rsult against Norwich has been the only significant blot on the copy book so far. Didn't expect us to do much more given a very tough opening 7 games.

Was thinking this but I think he needs more game time. With Chelsea now Essien is still injured, Ballache has gone back to Germany and Obi Mikel doesn't seem to get as much of a game under the new manager. I don't think the midfield is quite as physical as it was a few years back so he should get away with it.

Holden is now out for six months, not the six weeks originally quoted. Not looking too clever.

Cartilage damage apparently, a specialist told the club to get him fixed ASAP. Coyle was hoping to get away with it until next year apparently and have him laid up for the summer.

The injuries are starting to hurt us even though we probably have the strongest squad for 5 or 6 years.

Never seen such a weak Bolton side in the PL! Whats happened? Teams used to hate visiting the Reebok!

Robinson and Petrov were where it all went wrong today. A combination of Robo getting done for pace and Petrov being a petulant prick and not backtracking left us exposed down the left.

Better second half. Boyata needs to start at right back next game. Eagles needs to start instead of Petrov, we can't afford him at the moment he is too much of a luxury.

Cyril and Ngog looked good together, was horrified when Tuncay came on for Ngog at the end.

Finally...............

Well three points away at wigan after our current form isn't bad. still a few negatives here and there that definitely need addressing.

Robbo at left back is getting worse (if possible) but i thought Wheater and Cahill did well and it will be a shame when the partnership comes to a halt in january.

Eagles is doing well and does make himself a menace, never stops chasing and never gives up, but he is a bit lightweight and knocked off the ball to easily.

Ngog with his first goal, and he had it all to do even when he first got the ball in the box so he did well.

Reo Coker was in the right place at the right time (maybe Caldwell was too but we'll leave that to the dubious goals panel!)

But most importantly it was three points!!!! which were very much needed!

Well, that was another poor result against a Sunderland team who are also low on confidence and short of attacking options.

Was anyone at the game? Missed it this weekend but heard we looked pretty useless and got out played in a big way in the second half.

Yep, I went. I normally go watching Bury but as they were away at Bournemouth (and won!) I was offered season tickets for Bolton a friend couldn't use for me and my son.

They have definitely got problems, 1st half was poor from both sides but I thought Sunderland just shaded it. 2nd half as you say, Sunderland dominated and thoroughly deserved the win TBH.
Bolton just seemed static when they got the ball, passes rolling off the pitch, balls punted up field to nobody and lacking any sort of idea or invention.

It'll be tight but not looking good.

I agree that Robinson needs replacing asap; presumably Alonso will come in when he's fit. Coyle's biggest error IMO was keeping Jussi instead of making Al Habsi number 1.

Something DRASTIC needs to be done. I don't think we should get rid of Coyle................................yet, i think he deserves until christmas to get us out of the mire. There is just too many underperforming, or performaing to the best of their ability but aren't good enough (Robbo).

Just to depress people even further, Barton and Wright-Phillips looked good yesterday frown
