I'm pleased he's gone but it should have happened months ago. Hopefully Adams can rally the players and we can get a win at Fulham and pick up a point or 2 in our last 4 games but it's a big ask. Just had a look at a well known bookmaker's website and Malky Mackay is the odds on favourite for the post.

Doesn't help the new manager in who he's left to face in his final games.
Odd decision IMO, having gone this far, i'd have been inclined to leave it until the end of the season, but who knows what will happen now.
Giving him to the end would have been farcical. He was gone at the end of the season, he knew it, the fans knew it and the players knew it. When you reach that stage you have to go. It should have happened months ago but it's still the correct decision.Odd decision IMO, having gone this far, i'd have been inclined to leave it until the end of the season, but who knows what will happen now.

Mackay's current odds are the result of a flurry of bets being placed on him. Nothing more. I hope we get better than him TBH. He was doing ok at Cardiff, but was more or less a carbon copy of Hughton. Ok at home, but absolutely hopeless away. I've rarely seen such a negative side at carrow rd as the one I saw when Cardiff visited this season. It was by luck and some great goalkeeping that they cardiff didn't get absolutely tonked that day.

Agreed, Malky is not the way forward in my opinion. I really hope, if we do stay up, we don;t take the cheap option in sticking with Adams. We need someone with some experience and tactical nouse. Adams isn't ready for this yet IMO. I can't see Neil Lennon stepping down to a relegation battle from Champions league.I hope we get better than him TBH. Home to WBA and away to Fulham - surely 4 points available there? Talk about committing suicide. Sweet FA coming our way now, we've just got to pray the others all slip up.
I've got agree with that, the only hope now is that we can at least get a couple of points off the big boys but it shouldn't have come down to this, we really needed to perform against the clubs around us.Just hope that Ipswich don't pass us via the play offs.

... Your boards 'master plan' is looking shaky to say the least
On the contrary, it is not 'shaky' in any way :confused. It has been minuted in past AGMs that the Club had budgeted on relegation within 1-2 years of going up. The 1-2 additional years of PL football (and £60m-£100m income) have effectively been a bonus, all external debt is now repaid. That we still have one of the lowest wage bills in the PL still suggests a degree of 'prudence' is being adopted, to the extent that many supporters are now grumbling that a lack of activity in January has (amongst other things... ) done for us this season. Of course, some investment in the squad happened last summer but I get the impression that this has been achieved without stretching things financially and even should the worst happen come 11th May we should be OK although inevitably we will see the big wage earners unloaded PDQ.In the absence of an Abramovich or Sheikh Mansour (...or even a Liebherr would do), PL / Championship 'yo-yoing' is IMO only ever going to be the best our club can achieve and a rocky patch was going to happen at some stage.

Regardless of whether we get promoted or not our season has been a success
Indeed, McCarthy is working miracles down there- and given your run-in compared with others around you, the POs ought to be achievable. It will be intriguing to see what happen if he does manage to haul you up through the Play-Offs, Evans will want some of his £80 million back I'm sure (.. given that he has been transferring the club's assets into his name to offset the debt). I suppose MM might get a couple of million to spend on the squad (... good luck with that). Maybe there will even be enough left over for the club to pay their bills on time . Ahh ok, wrong end of the stick time TBH I don't think there ever was a 'masterplan' manager-wise! If there was Hughton would (and should) have gone months ago. IMO the sacking was a knee-jerk reaction from the board intended only to deflect blame. They are happy with the Club's finances (hence the essay above ) and figured they had nothing to lose by bowing to public opinion, figuring at least they could be seen to be doing something (albeit months too late).
it's a fair comment about football management though. Late late year when Hughton's position was first under close scrutiny, the fan forums bemoaned the fact there there were no obvious candidates to replace him with. Any mention of Pulis (who was between clubs) was met with howls of derision. Very much a situation now!

Yeah. Agree.
I wanted MM at town soon after wolves got rid of him (massive error in hindsight!)
Unfortunately we got lumbered with the dark lord and by then the damage was too much for poor Paul jewell to fix.
Luckily MM is made of stern stuff and has rooted out the dross and troublemakers, leadbitter, Martin, chopra etc.
Best thing to have happened to us in years. And yet, still people moan the football isn't " exciting"
I don't consider it exciting shipping 9 goals to your nearest rivals or 7 to posh.
First rule of football: if you can't win, don't lose.
