We deserved to win, and I wouldn't describe it as dire for us, you maybe.
You need a bit of luck to gain success. Scruffy goals count as well. I reckon City edged the match, and maybe luck is on their side as well his season. I thought we would miss Snodgrass, but the system seems to be working, although I wonder whether Grabban can keep up his scoring rate over the season - he seems a bit lightweight, not pushy enough in the box like a player like Holt.*

  • No pun intended. Berra fell over like a fairy.

If you think or performances like that will get you promoted then keep on dreaming. Neither team played well.

If you check on the championship show I think you'll see the goal was actually offside. You edged it, but only through a single mistake by us. Keep wearing those Rosie coloured specs.

From what I saw and has been reported we beat you without ever needing to get out of first gear. Grinding out results when playing under par is always said to be a good sign, so fingers crossed. As for not playing well enough to think about promotion just yet, I think we showed plenty of promise when we took Blackburn (unbeaten in 14) apart in the week.

So things are going surprisingly (for me) well at the moment. NA seems to be wanting a lot of the egos and poor attitude players moved on (e.g. Pilkington) whilst getting team spirit back into the group- if you take a look at the 'top of the league at Portman Rd' end of match in-crowd video on YouTube it is obvious there is very good spirit both within the squad and between the squad and Adams / Holt, admittedly we had just whopped the old enemy, but still yes. Getting Wes back on board and 'up for it' has been an immense decision.

But I suppose the proof of the pudding will be when we have a set back. Cardiff away in 2 weeks could be interesting. A bit more business before the window shuts would be good though, CB is still a position of concern (Turner did have a blinder at PR though) unless NA can get Bassong back on board (a lost cause I think). Another creative midfield player to help Wes would be awesome, but then we'd just be getting greedy!

Don't get me wrong. You were better. Slightly. I think it may have been down to the occasion, both teams not wanting to lose or give anything away. The game was pretty tedious until the end when we went all out attack and you countered as it opened up a bit.

We were poor in the final third and you were well organised.

Saying that you definitely didn't play to your potential.

For me it wasn't a bad result as such because we are a lot stronger than when we last met. I'm not sour grapes, I just think that neither team played well and the performances were fitting of a 0-0 draw really. You didn't really create that much and we didn't seem to have the ability to finish.

Onto the next one!

Haha, saying a defeat in a local derby isn't a bad result is a joke. Can you imagine a Liverpool fan saying that? Or arsenal fan? Haha

You didn't have ability to finish because you never created anything.

No, you misunderstand. It wasn't such a bad result as it could have been a lot worse. I'm a glass half full type. So whilst losing is a blow, it's not the end of the world and I would have been happy with a draw.

I suggest YOU find out where specsavers is. And whilst you are at it, take the linesman and ref!

I was referring to the fact that you seemed to have watched different game to the one I watched, not specifically the circumstances surrounding the goal.

Great result yesterday against Cardiff coming back from 2 goals down. Wasn't sure about Neil Adams as manager when he was first appointed but I have to admit he has certainly found the key to getting a decent performance from the players.

This season's turning out to be too good. I'm concerned. There's something wrong - this isn't the usual City we all know and love.

Mind you, last season's strikers were complete duds, and wholesale changes mean we're now scoring goals on a regular basis. What do goals make? Prizes!

Seem to be stuttering now after a decent start. Didn't expect much against Fulham yesterday though. They seem to have the Indian sign over us. Poor results against Charlton and Rotherham give cause for concern. Adams needs to get the strikers scoring again and quickly.

I'm hoping recent results have just been a hiccup - getting the bad luck and indifferent play out of the way at an early stage of the season. No season is perfect.

Having said that, it looks like the Championship could be even more cutthroat than usual this year. No sign of any outstanding team.

Just to repeat the last paragraph. This is one weird season even by Championship standards. Up and down all the time for so many teams.

Bournemouth in the Premiership? I don't think so. There's a long way to go, although whether City'll be there is anyone's guess. You'd think by now some sort of hierarchy would have established itself, like last year with Leicester. This year will go down to the wire, methinks.

Good to see Mike Phelan back at the club. His experience at Man Utd as Fergie's assistant will be invaluable and maybe the kick start we need to get the season back on track with the underachievers we have at the club at present. I also see that Mark Robson has been sacked following the defeat at Forest the other week.
