True. Just thought Pascoe at least was a Jack through and through.
BUT who is to say the new manager would not dispense of him I guess...
Ergh.

You feel deflated, I feel like I've been kicked in the so hard I've come off the ground.BUT who is to say the new manager would not dispense of him I guess...

Not a great couple of days.

Agree it feels like a rough week. I think Pasc may at some point come back and manage us if he can emerge from being the No2, and that if LFC are patient for 2 years that BG could go on and be a very long term appointment.
So whats the future for us? Great business on the compensation. Great business on the player protection clause. Great shop window for talent.
But we need to dig our heels in now to survive the threat of not being able to attract a quality manager. No2 from Wigan, somebody who followed Martinez coming back in the circumstances of their results last year - no thanks.
We need to be broader, braver, and consistent with the substance of what we do. It doesn't need to be a big name, but we can afford a decent name, not a back room boy. Brendan did his time in that role, made mistakes as No1 at other Clubs and then came to us. If we take a No2 now he'll make mistakes when new in role - we cannot afford that.
If we've protected the squad I am convinced the Board must have thought broader and braver - they'll disappoint with anything below that.

Flatline,
Let's be frank, for every Club that survives year 1 there is a year 2 risk of relegation. Whether we like it or not that risk has just increased with BG and back room going.
The player protection clause is a great commercial move, there are players in contract who could have an optimum value at the end of the 2012-13 season, its shrewd business, and would give us a fighting fund if we really need it should relegation be a threat or reality.
In addition it also gives the players a real fix of certainty, save i imagine for Gylfi. Gylfi's goals got us into safety, his medical was last week, terms agreed before. There's only one reason the deal hasn't been concluded !
